DD is doing her cabin crew applications (updated)

Thanks for all your good wishes sadly DD didn't get past the first round which was made worse by the fact that a friend on the same course at college went with her just to 'keep DD company' and got through to round 2! where she also got knocked out. By all accounts it was a bit of a cattle market (you just turned up on spec) and there appears to be no rhyme or reason to who got through it was just a lottery basically.While she was waiting for her friend DD spoke to a number of girls who had worked as cabin crew previously who were also turned down

Still it could be worse apparently one girl never even made it past the front door (it states on all the literature you have to be over 5'2" she was only 4'8" ) Ah well on the the next one

Oh dear!

I hope she's not too discouraged - it sounds as though she did nothing 'wrong', so should be heartened that she wasn't rejected for any good reason (like being too short!) and could well be successful another time.

Oh the poor dear. Tell her to keep trying if its what she really wants. I just recently left my job here in the States with USAirways (groud crew) so I could move to England...but I miss it already. Well really I miss my flight benefits which allowed me to travel so much. Definitely a fantastic perk.Good luck to her on the next one.
