just wanted to thank those for their support.

we are up today now at 830 am and are going to try and do mgm.

This thread was not started to bash disney in any way, it was to let people know that an accident happened.

I am not out looking for a free trip as some of you suggested, or quick to hire a lawyer.

Apparently there is a design flaw and something happened. I am just letting everyone know what happened and i myself dont even know what to do. I was looking for advice on where to go.

apparently this is on another board as well now and it states it happened again to another yesterday, but ended up worse......losing a toenail and bleeding. I dont know if thats true or not, just what i read and was directly to see.

ill try to update later today when we return.

thanks all! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Have a great time at MGM and congrats on making lemons into lemonade!!!

I'm glad you're trying to put this behind you and enjoy the rest of your vacation. I hope you have fun, fun, fun!

Thanks for the update and have a magical day.

...one that took Disney 14 years to figure out??? :confused3 For Disney's sake, I hope that's not the case. Doesn't say much for their inspection team.

In any event, I would just do as it seems you are, and put the whole thing behind you and go enjoy the rest of your vacation.

Glad to hear you are up and about. Try to have a good day. I will be thinking of you all :goodvibes . Take it easy and enjoy, take a break if you need to. Remember to keep her foot up, it will make it feel better. I know because I broke my leg five years ago. Some times I still need to rest it. Have fun :sunny:

If you had kept everything low key they might have given DD and all those who helped push the wheelchair MAW style GAC cards (unlimited FOTL).

Disney hints:
http://members.aol.com/ajaynejr/dispass.htm

You should never wedge an arm or leg into some nook or cranny of a ride vehicle including a bus or plane since jerking and lurching or turbulence could snap a bone.

Crikeys.

I'll be sure to keep my feet square on the ground when I ride Splash Mountain in September, in my first every trip to Disney!

That being said, I'm only 5"2, not 5"11... That's the tallest 14 year old girl I've ever heard of!!! Wow!

Just wanted to say "I'm sorry" for the abuse you took on yesterday's thread.
I totally understood you were just trying to get some DIS support when you posted initially.

Try to have a 'magical' day!

I am very glad to hear you are getting on with your vacation. I hope the pain has gone done in your SD's foot and she can enjoy some more of your trip.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your vacation. I missed the other thread but my mom told me about it. Best wishes to your DD.

Great news, consider using the wheel chair along with the crutches for best access without tiring your dd, good use of fast pass will help as well. Send the teens off as fast pass fetchers!!

However in regards to this suggestion:

A GAC Guest Assistance Card is not a front of the line pass, neither is a wheel chair (as the OP found out yesterday). My sil with MS uses a GAC to wait out of the sun but only when absolutely necessary. FWIW it dosen't eliminate the wait or act as a fast pass. If the OP's dd needs accomodations in addition the wheel chair they should discuss them with guest relations and see if a GAC will be helpful.

I would like to ask a question about being on WDW property? Currently, I can not afford to take my children to parks on WDW, so I have opted for Universal, however I would like to see WDW, so I would like to know if you can get on the property to see the sights and hotels without having to pay for admission? I would also like to know about the parks, is there a tour or something to see what's going on before I invest in buying park tickets, which happen to cost a lot b/c my dd is 15 and my ds's are 10 and 13. and that rounds to about $$$$ for a park hopper pass. Any help would be very helpful, thank you.

Queenmum, if you post your questions on a new thread you are sure to get lots of answers. :)

Posting it within another person's thread is sort of like 'hijacking'. Out of courtesy for the original poster here, could you re-post on your own thread? Everyone will be happy to help! :thumbsup2

Could everyone else please also keep to the OP's topic as a matter of courtesy, then look for Queenmum's post if you would like to reply to her?

I am so glad your daughter is able to be up and about. I hope the rest of your vacation is absolutely magical!

Boomhauer - I was reading an article the other day that a company that will remain nameless in this post is just now getting around to addressing (not even fixing) a design flaw in a product that they have known about since the 1970s! Most large corporations are reluctant to admit flaws in their products and/or services until it hits their bottom line.

I'm glad your DSD is feeling better! And sorry you took such a slamming yesterday. Hope you have a magical day! :wizard:

I am glad to see you are able to update us on your daughter's condition. I truely hope that sheis feeling better and that her leg heals quickly.

I know I am beng completely selfish here but I really hope that what happened to your daughter was just a freak accident. We go to Disney very soon and I just can't imagine a trip without a ride on Splash Mountain! It is going to be hard enough with POC closed. :guilty:

If there was a second incident then I am betting they will close down SM until the flaw is corrected. Maybe they could just close the front seat of every log? :confused3

Anyway, I am glad you are still able to do some of your planned trip. It is upsetting when children get hurt and it worries a parent so very much. Take care now and try to have a few smiles today! :)

Hope your step-daughter is feeling better. Best Wishes for a speedy recovery!
