DD got a solo in choir

Except she isn't IN choir . A friend and she brought in their recorders that they played in 4th grade as a joke for pep band practice. Another kid (in choir) saw her recorder and asked if she could really play it. She said yes. The kid (who is an amazing singer) dragged her over to the choir room to show the choir director who gave her the "recorder solo" for their concert. Who knew those weeks of suffering with them practicing their recorders would pay off . She is in the band and plays saxophone so the music and the basics for playing (vibrato, etc.) are the same.

Good job! I'm impressed she still knew where her recorder from 4th grade was. I'm sure ours is in the house somewhere but I have no idea where it could be.

I bet she gets a few recorder notations when kids are signing her yearbook this year, what fun.
