Only a week before going to DL and she tripped and fell causing her arm to break in 2 places. She is 6 years old. I figured she can ride anything that a pregnant women can ride as long as she meets height restrictions but just wondering if its okay.

Absolutely, she'll be fine. Hope it heals nice and quickly for her. That is my fear in life is something happening right before a trip.

I don't think there are any restrictions for people with casts. . . just the height restrictions.

We had a similiar experience and my daughter had no trouble riding any rides but we had to be careful with getting the cast wet in the pool area or rides that had a lot of water splashing. We used those tube bags that newspaper comes in to cover her cast. Good Luck

I would specically ask the physcian who is treating her what their expectations are and go from there.

Thanks. She was a little bummed at first but is now excited since I mentioned that the characters might sign her cast. I am sure she will love any extra attention she may receive.

My DD (5) broke her arm last week too! She's looking forward to character autographs -- we haven't had anyone else sign it yet. We got the waterproof liner so she can still swim and bathe, so we don't worry about it getting wet. I'm more concerned about the character autographs washing off but I've got a package of Sharpies ready to go!

My husband broke several bones in his hand and wrist shortly before a trip and he was fine. You may want to have her hold her arm tight to her body on some of the bumpy rides (Indiana Jones, Big Thunder Mountain) because the bumps hurt even in a cast. Also as others mentioned you'll want to take precautions on wet ride (Splash Mountain), we just used a plastic bag to wrap around his cast before getting on the ride. I tried to talk him into having the characters sign his cast but he wouldn't go for it though he did get some sympathy from Pooh when he saw the cast. So your daughter should be fine and might even get some extra character attention due to the cast.

Im sorry to hear about your daughters arm. Thats really horrible. I hope she will feel better really soon.

As for the rides I dont think she will have much of a problem :) All the rides are really tame and its not like her arm will really be strapped down with a bar unless shes going on Screamin', but im not even sure if shes tall enough to go onto that ride.

most rides will allow your daughter to ride.

as an ex ride operator from knotts, i have kicked people off with leg cast on certain rides. thats about all we kick people off from who has a cast.

I am sorry about your dd..I think she will be fine on the rides..I have seen cm's help people out of wheel chairs for rides..though
My dd broke her arm on Easter..we spent all day in emergency..She just got the cast off last week..just in time for our June trip..

An adult should ride beside her on jerky rides becaue she might have trouble bracing herself to keep from being jerked around too much. I am talking about rides like Indy and BTMRR.
