It has taken awhile to post our last days. I think I have been finding other things to do so I wouldn't have to feel like our Mom/daughter trip is really over. Oh Well. I guess I will have to start planning our next family trip to keep me in the Disney mode.

This trip was specifically for my DD who celebrated her 8th bday on Sat 3/24. We left 2 younger siblings at home with DH and she and I went to WDW. What a deal! Our first 2 nights we stayed at ASMo and really enjoyed our first stay ever at an All Star hotel. Then we spent our last 2 nights at the Contemporary because my DD wanted to be there for her bday.

Day 4 - Sat 3/24

My DD's b'day dream...to wake up at the Contemporary. She did this around 7am and was so excited to begin her day. We got ready quickly and got to the monorail to go to the Poly for our PS character breakfast at O'hanas. She remembered from our previous stay that you can sometimes get in the front of the monorail so we asked when it arrived. We were lucky to be first in line so we got to ride up front. It was a thrill to step off at the Poly which we stayed at 3 years ago. We met up with my sister, her DH, and DS(2yr). My Dad and brother also came to celebrate with us. We were seated quickly and served promptly. The food was excellent. We had not eaten here at all on our last trip. We know what we were missing now. I loved their bread! The characters were making their rounds and Mickey made sure he came to our table as our waiter brought over my DD's birthday cupcake. She loved the "extra" attention. Her smile was worth everything to get her for this day. I let them know ahead of time it was her bday. The characters and children paraded around the restaurant towards the end of the breakfast. What a great meal!

We headed back to the CR to change because it had been chilly earlier in the a.m. but was getting warmer now. When we arrived at MK I was surprised at all the tables set up for the bag checks. They were very efficient at getting everyone through fast. We headed for City Hall so we could get my DD a birthday badge that people on the boards told me about. We went to Swiss Family treehouse, got our fast pass for the Jungle cruise, and headed to the Hall of Presidents. I had a few minutes before we would be let in so I ran over to the gift shop next to Haunted Mansion that has kitchen stuff. This is one stop I always make. I hadn't seen the Hall of Presidents in many years so I was looking foward to it. My DD was fascinated at how real the Presidents look and was quite taken that they even moved! It was time for our fast pass so we headed back to the Jungle cruise. We went straight through and got on the next boat. Who invented this great fast pass anyway! Unfortunately for some people in line, they didn't even know what fast pass was. The driver noticed my DD's pin and said Happy Birthday as she entered the boat. Eating it up she is...After the ride we decided to go back to Epcot since MK was getting very crowded. DD asked to sit up front again on the monorail at the TTc and the birthday badge got us in the front on the next monorail. All the way to Epcot in the front was so cool! Our driver was really nice and chatted with us the whole way. He was looking foward to the upcoming Easter week because they expected a big crowd which they hadn't seen in awhile.

We stopped at Innoventions again and let my DD show her Uncle around the things she enjoyed the other day when we were here. Then we headed to China where we played the Chinese game with sticks(forgot the name of it). My DD loved this game. We enjoyed a little parade in front of America and then we went to the UK to get her last stamp on her passport. We missed this Kidcot stop the other day. They had a band here in the gazebo playing the Beatles. We sang to the tunes as we strolled out of the country. We headed out of the park to meet up with my sister back at the CR. We changed to go swimming. I was disppointed that Mickey hadn't dropped by our room since I told them at check-in about my DD's b'day. I did go to Guest Relations and mentioned it. She said she would take care of it. The water was a little cold and the sun had moved and was not on the pool area anymore so our swim was short. We went inside to the huge gameroom where my DD hit her Uncle up for lots of quarters. She was loving the fact they had accumulated 100's of tickets. We had no plans for dinner so DD decided she wanted to eat at the Food Court and play games. Later that evening we said good night to my family and DD and I went back to MK as our final park visit. We got on the monorail just as the fireworks were going off. Great timing. We arrived in the park and everyone was leaving. We still had another hour until the park closed. We headed for the Speedway since we hadn't done that yet at all. The wait was about 10-15 minutes. Spent some time walking around Toontown, and then headed for the Pooh ride. We walked right on the ride! My last thrill. Pooh has always been my favorite character. The park was now closing and we had to say good-by. So sad to leave but we had a magical time. When we got to our room there was a balloon and present from Mickey. A nice surprise to end my DD's birthday. Tomorrow we plan to stay at the CR and enjoy the warm, nice day expected.

Day 5 - Sunday 3/25

What a beautiful morning! We organized our things and then went to the Food Court for breakfast. We brought our food outside by the pool and had a nice, relaxing breakfast. We then went to the gift shops to get a few things. We changed into our suits, packed our bags and headed for the pool. It was getting crowded fast. We got some chairs. My DD loved the slide and went down it over and over again. We lounged around taking in the Fla. sun. A man working around the pool area talked to us for a minute and we said " Have a good day". He said in return, "Every day is a good day it just depends what you make of it". He was so right!I have been telling myself that every day since then. We checked out and enjoyed the afternoon by the pool. Tiffany Towncar picked us up at 5:15p. There was no airport wait in fact the airport was empty! We shopped and grabbed something to eat. Headed for the gate. Seemed to be on time until 10 minutes before we were suppose to leave. They said the plane hadn't arrived from Atlanta and we would be delayed 20 minutes. It turned into 1 1/2 hr because the plane ended up needed a part that had broken. I wish they hadn't shared that with us because my DD got terribly frightened to get on the plane. When we did finally get on she was crying for awhile. I did my best to soothe her. Luckily she fell asleep 20 minutes into the flight and stayed asleep for the whole flight back to BWI. Thank goodness!

Thanks for listening to our special trip. I hope if your are planning and preparing for a trip soon that you have a wonderful time. We did.

What a nice Mother & daughter trip you had! Such memories to have forever! I am glad you had a great day for your daughter's Birthday. She will always remember this time she had with you. Thanks for sharing your trip with us!

We are taking my DGD to WDW for her 7th B'day. It will be Mother, Daughter, and Grandmother. This is a totally last minute trip for us. We will be staying at the CR for the first time. Your report really helped me with some ideas. I didn't even know about talking to Guest Relations about this special time. Thank you
