Well I could not have been more pleased with my DD 8's Christmas morning reaction to her opening up her Disney trip!!!! She went from shock to sobbing to totally excited!!!! Now we just have to wait 21 more days!!!! YIPEE!!!:cheer2:

:lmao: I thought she found out something else too!!

My kids are THRILLED about going to Disney.. They keep asking me when will January get here. lol

That's great! I was wondering how others' Christmas surprises went. We surprised DD7 and DD3. We had the phone call, and the look on DD7's face was priceless. She was shocked and excited. She's still excited!

We decided to wait until evening for our surprise WDW trip to make its appearance due to some family members being jealous of this trip. However when we got back from Christmas dinner at my daughter's we had a scavenger hunt. My daughter that lives with me and I set it up before we left for older daughter's house. The 2 DGD's had to search for small presents and clues to lead them to the next ones. We had them go from the LR to the BR, to the Bath ,to the kitchen, to the garage, and then out to the car. In the car was the Disney Park maps I had ordered and a clue that sent them back to the LR where we had set up their new portable DVD player with the Disney Vacation DVD that I had also ordered. The little presents they found were progressively Disney-ish so they wouldn't get it right away. We started with pens then a small box of jelly bellys, a small bottle of body spray, Disney stickers, a Princess photo album, and then the maps. We alternated attaching the clues to the small presents so that each girl got to read clues to each other. It was so much fun..but the best of all was when they got back to the LR and saw the DVD playing....they were soooo excited, jumping up and down and saying (actually hollering LOL) "OH my goodness, we're going to Disney!!!" Of course I captured it all on video to keep the memory!!

Most folks surprise the kids with Disney, but we did it a little different this year. My mom doesn't have much money - we never did growing up, and it's even tougher on her now. I have been blessed with a great job, and through hard work we're in the position to splurge every now and then on our Disney trips. My mom went with us last Thanksgiving and paid for about 1/2 of her way - which put her in a bind, but we couldn't afford to pick up much more of the cost at the time. She thought it was a once in a lifetime chance, so worth it to her to do whatever she had to in order to come up with the money. It's all she has talked about in the last year! She's also kept telling the kids that she's saving hard, and really wants to go back with us another time.

Well, that 'other time' is her gift this year (for Christmas and her birthday and mothers day). We had my DD5 call her Christmas Eve and ask her if she wanted to go back to Disney with us in January. I was listening on the other line and my mom told DD that she didn't know if she would have enough money by then. DD told her that mommy and daddy were paying, and I could practically hear my mom smiling over the phone.

I know if I had a billion dollars, I could not give my mom a gift more precious than a vacation with her only two grandbabies. I'm thankful I was able to do so.
