Those of you who have met DD#2 Abby know that she had a blocked tear duct that we were hoping would resolve itself. It didn't and we had to do surgery to get it corrected.

The doctor had to do what we called an 'eye angioplasty'. :) Basically they put one of those expanding balloon probes down through her tear duct until they find the blockage (in this case it was a webbing that covered the end of the duct). Inflate to break the blockage open and you're done.

About 10 mins for the surgery and now her eye is 100% better. Mommy was worried about getting it done - we are all feeling much better about it now.

Oh how scary for the poor thing(and mom and dad too)!
Glad its over and all is well.

I would have worried too....anything with the eyes is scary. I cared for a little boy who had both eyes with blocked ducts. It seemed like it took forever for them to open -- he was about 9 months when they finally did. And, then the strange thing was that all of the sudden his eyes started getting worse for about a week. Then one day, no more.

I'm glad everything is cleared up and over. Your daughters are adorable.

Glad that it went well and that they were able to open it for her.

My niece had that done.
Glad all went well for Abby. BTW, what a beautiful name. :D

I am glad to hear all went wel. What a scary time for all of you....all surgery is scary!

Jeff - So glad to hear that the procedure is over and done and that it was a success. You must have been worried sick about the whole thing. Now your precious little Abby is the perfect princess. Thanks for the great news.

So glad to hear all went well, Jeff. I know Gael must be relieved too!!! :)

Glad to hear that everything is fine now.

So glad everything went well! You were all in my thoughts on Tuesday.

Jeff, I'm so glad all went well. Emily had to have eye surgery at 3 for a muscle disorder and we were so scared, but she breezed right through the less than 30 minute surgery. I swear kids are so much more resilient than adults.
