Hi! So currently, I am in my last semester at a community college. I do not know if I will be transferring to a 4 year in NJ or if I'm going to be attending a school in FL. I need major help because I don't know how it will work if I am transferring in the fall if I plan on doing the fall cp (if I get accepted, of course) so how will it all work? Does it matter if I'm transferring to a 4 year? Like I said, I don't know which university I will be transferring to so I don't know how any of it will work. Does that mean I have to use my community college for the program? Sorry if this is confusing! I'm new to the site also :confused3:earsgirl:

When you apply. You say the name of the school you are currently attending and are enrolled at. The end.

But I plan on starting a new college in the fall...I don't want to be stuck at my community college for the program. It doesn't matter? I don't know much, sorry.

I am not sure what you're asking "be stuck" at. It doesn't matter what college or university you're attending. There are people who have graduated when the CP starts. What matters is that you are enrolled at the time of your application.

If you're talking about your nametag, you'd have to pay for your nametag to change the university or the hometown once you're there. Most people drop their college/university from their nametag when they arrive.

I understand that I'll be putting my current school down when I apply. However, I won't be at that school come fall due to transferring and I will be accepting a school that I will be transferring to before I go down for the program (if I get accepted). Will the fact that I am going to be transferring to a different school but doing the fall cp affect anything? I know I am probably coming off so confusing right now and I'm really sorry about that!

No. You only need to be enrolled at the time of your application. What school you're going to or if you're even going to school during your CP doesn't matter. It only matters that you're enrolled at the time of your application.

If I'm understanding you correctly, you're submitting applications to transfer this semester and would be starting a new college in Fall 2014. If that's the case, I would be surprised if the schools you're applying to would be willing to let you "start late" in essence.

You'll be fine applying the CP no matter what since you will be in a college during application time, but you need to check with admissions at the schools you're applying to will let you do the CP at all in what should be your first semester there. What you don't want to do is apply to the CP, accept the CP, and then have to not do the CP because of your new school.

I agree.

Most CPs take a semester off from school to do the program. Some will get internship credit from their college, and a smaller amount will actually enroll in credited classes (either through the DCP or through on-line classes).

Is your intention to take classes during your DCP? Are you hoping to get internship credits? I will say that it will be difficult to get the internship approved because you will not have a relationship with your new adviser yet.

If you apply for the fall semester, get in, but then go to the CP and do not enroll in classes, then you're not actually a student there. Depending on the institution, some will postpone enrollment, others will require you to go through Admissions again for the Spring program (I would hate to see you pay the application fee twice).

I recommend figuring out what you intend to get out of the program. If it's just to come to Disney and work, but not for classes/credit, then hold off applying to your next school until Spring.

Thank you both SO much for finally helping me out and answering the questions I've been asking. I thought my post was a lost cause! But yes, you've helped me so much in clarifying. I'll definitely discuss this when I interview with a couple colleges in the coming weeks! I appreciate it immensely!
