The 2015 Conde Nast Traveler Reader’s Choice Awards have honored Disney Cruise Line as the Number 1 Large Ship Line. This is the 13th consecutive year that Disney Cruise Line has been honored by the travelers who use the Conde Nast website. 128,000 readers participated in this year’s survey.

wow, Conde Nast readers really love DCL. I'd expect at least 2 or 3 different winners over 13 years, so good for DCL.

I always said, if you don't feel DCL is worth the price, there are many other lines out there, all price ranges.

Yet none provide the magic and pixie dust, the classic vessels and other amenities the DCL cruises have.

DCL was picked #1 in the Large ship category and #2 in the Mid-sized Ship category.

The caption for both categories was the same:

This family-friendly line offers cruises to classic getaway destinations like the Bahamas, Hawaii and Alaska, as well as locales like the Panama Canal and the California coast. A two-week transatlantic cruise sails from the Caribbean to the Mediterranean. Aboard the Disney Dream, kids and adults alike can zoom down a 765-foot outdoor covered waterslide—the first of its kind on a cruise ship.

DCL also placed number one and two in the large cat. ships with the widely exclaimed CRUISE CRITIC. Overall impression of cruise guest was exceedingly high. Good for DCL and Disney as a whole. To read these boards one would think that they were running some kind of scam on the general public. I'm beginning to question the validity of some of the remarks made on other threads. It almost appears that some are engaged in a smear campaign against Disney and DCL. My opinion of course.

Ridiculous comment. Most people unhappy with DCL have cruised numerous times on DCL. Do you think they would have stayed with DCL it they were unhappy with the product? People are unhappy with pricing, policy changes, alcohol policy, and the new direction DCL is taking. Lets wait and see how DCL does in these contests after all the changes they have made this year. What they are doing to the travel agent's is awful. Not sure why you would want to irritate people that sell your product. It makes no sense to me, and other cruise lines are not doing this. It's a discussion forum not a smear campaign. You never saw negative comments on these boards three years ago so obviously something has changed. Let's not forget the person that posted this is the biggest cheerleader on this forum. It doesn't matter what DCL does he would defend them. DCl is lucky to have that kind of customer loyalty.

People are unhappy with pricing, policy changes, alcohol policy, and the new direction DCL is taking. Lets wait and see how DCL does in these contests after all the changes they have made this year. What they are doing to the travel agent's is awful. Not sure why you would want to irritate people that sell your product. It makes no sense to me, and other cruise lines are not doing this. The comment made is nevertheless a fact. I too am a Platinum DCL cruiser; all of which are Concierge and have sailed on all ships. In addition; have been a DVC member since 1998 and am a stock=holder. I grew up with Disney and was at the grand opening of WDW. The post did not refer to the originator of this thread; however, I stated that in regards to (other threads) it appeared that SOME were engaging in smear tactics. Not ridiculous at all; just an observation.

The possibility that the voting may change with next years vote because of the DCL cut backs did pass though my mind, but you have to also remember many other lines, especially NCL, re making big and more severe cut backs and up charges. These lines have their own fans upset and that may effect their votes as well.

I agree, it seems to be the same people are always complaining though. I just ignore those people's comments.

I have lots of problems in life to worry about. This is a Disney cruise line forum where we discuss Disney cruise line issues. Politics, religion and other world issues are not allowed on this board. If I wanted to discuss my personal problems on a public forum which I never would by the way, or who I think the next pres should be.... I'm sure there's a place for that. Yes vacationing is a luxury, and this is place where we discuss how we spend our money on such luxury. Postitve and negative comments are allowed. I'm sure there are forums you can go to discuss ONLY "happy thoughts". In fact I'm sure there are lots' of "Happy DVD's" you could watch instead of coming to these boards.

Folks, you don't all have to agree with each other's opinions, but you do need to respect that not everyone will have the same opinion as you.

While it's great to post your reasons for why you feel the way you do, it is not okay to attack other posters by telling them that their opinions are ridiculous because at that point, you've made it personal.
