My df and I are looking into a DCL wedding (I spoke to Cathy this past Friday). I totally forgot to ask her what the price of a photographer is. Does anyone know?

Also, the photos are THE MOST important thing to me, aside from marrying my fiance. I am concerned that a photographer on the ship will just be one of the employees from shutters and not a true professional photographer. Any advice from people who have experience with them would truly help!

Hi,

I just stumbled upon your post and am in a similar situation. Did you ever find out about the photographer?

Thanks,
Nicole

I believe one of the cheapest packages is in the $800 range. But they go up from there. She tells you on the phone you can't just buy a disk of the photos but I'm going to ask on the ship anyway.

I guess I was thinking over $800 b/c I definitely want the photo CD.

Thanks for posting that.

That sounds like the right call. Photography is also extremely important to me. I was also considering the extra $85 for another hour of photo service. Do you think that'd be enough or to much? Im not exactly sure how long everything will take...

Don't forget you want to get out to enjoy Castaway Cay with your guests too. I am torn between the extra hour of photography and the time on the beach with my guests.

Cathy said that there should be enough time to get some shots around the ship without the extra hour of photography.

I don't see how you can get shots on the beach, at the cake cutting and then on the ship with out the extra hour. You know I am trying for just the CD. If I can't get just the CD then I for sure will be getting the big package. If I am paying for ALL OF THOSE prints with the bog package I want alot to pick from so I will def. add the extra hour!

Well, I think you can get it all - it's just how MANY can you get without the extra hour? :rotfl: :confused3 :cutie:

I will give you my very honest opinion about my DCL photography..I ordered the cheapest VR package, so I think I got what I paid for..I did not even THINK about the experience of my photographer until after the VR and saw "Earning My Ears" ribbon on his tag..
The poses were great..he knew what to do..but he used too much flash and a lot of pictures turned out hot..thankfully, I had a lot of friends that took awesome shots and I am thrilled with all I have

My advice..when you meet with your onboard coordinator (not Cathy, because she isn't in control on the ship) tell them you want a VERY experienced photographer..I don't know how long mine had been doing it..really, he could have been a photographer for YEARS but just new to disney..but it is something to mark on your list...EXPERIENCED PHOTOGRAPHER!!

I'm thinking about getting married on the secret deck on deck 7. Do they decorate it in any way? Would the Cadillac Lounge be nicer?

Bev

Oh..they take care of Deck 7..I didn't want to be inside..I wanted to be out in the sea!! All decorations by DCL except my program next to bottle

We were told that we had too many to go on the deck...we had 20+ with the kids, and we were inside....after seeing Betsy's pictures, I so wish we would have pushed for the outside. Most of the pictures....except the ones from the DCL photographer....were too dark, with the bright lights coming in from the portholes.

I'm afraid they won't decorate it like that since it is just hubby and I. It looks so pretty. I am having one of the couples from our dis meet coming so there will be someone so we'll need some seats, lol.

i have seen VR's with just a couple and they put up the bows too..part of the package..you are paying for it..same as if you had 10 people!

Yeah the cost is no less because it is just you and your DH. Don't worry Disney will make it fabulous!
