If anyone gets the Family issue of Travel + Leisure (Fall/Winter), there is a really great comparison of the Magic vs Royal's Navigator.
A family of four did back to back cruises (DCL first). The range of the price of the cruises based on that time of year and cat. was within about $100 on the higher end of the cat. scale. DCL being the higher of the 2, but about the same for the lower cat. It sounded like they had a great time on both.
I got the impression that they liked the Navigator for it's fast pace, especially at night.
But I also got the impression that DCL had the best services, disembarkment, shows, and private island (of course!!!). They were pleasantly surprised that they were not overwhelmed by Disney-ness.
One thing that I noticed about the Navigator is that the Teen Center is open 24 hrs.!!! EEK!!! I had a grumpy enough teenager who stayed out until 1 and 2 every night let alone trying to convince him he DOES need some sleep!!!
