Hey there... We are cruising veteran's; We've been on the Disney Wonder 16 years ago (So long ago, i hardly remember) We have been on the Dream twice and the Fantasy once. Earlier this year we strayed and went on Norwegian to Bermuda. Hated it and now have to go on Disney just to regain our faith in FANTASTIC cruises!

We are booked on the Magic out of NYC in Oct. 2016 over Halloween. Here are a few questions I'd love answered by those that have been there.

1. Are the pools on the Magic larger then those on the Dream/Fantasy?

2. Do they have Fireworks on Pirate Night? My DS (11)'s question.

3. How does Pirate night compare to that on the Dream/Fantasy?

4. How does Animators Palate compare to the on the Magic now that it's been re-imagined to the Dream/Fantasy?

5. I've heard that the servers on the Magic aren't as great as those on the Dream/Fantasy? Please tell me that's not true?

6. My DS is now old enough to go into Edge? Can anyone shed light on that? We never really checked it out because he has been in the kids club forever it seems.

7. Lastly - Can anyone shed light; i saw that on the Magic this year they don't celebrate Halloween on Halloween, that the festivities only lasted through Oct. 28th .We booked specifically the cruise over Halloween so we could enjoy it on oct. 31st. Can anyone shed light on this?

Thank you in advance for any info you can help with....

1. I don't know for sure whether they are larger, but, like most cruise ship pools, they are packed on sea days.

2. Yes.

3. Quite similar. However, there's only one Pirate show after the late seating (unlike the Dream/Fantasy 2 shows). Unless that's changed recently.

5. Can't say for sure, but I would seriously doubt there's that much difference. We've not noticed any difference in the servers between the various ships.

7. Halloween on the High Seas on the Magic:
Disney Magic 10/4/2015 –10/28/2015

These are inclusive dates. That is, cruises that depart during those dates (including those dates) have HOTHS.

The Magic is an awesome ship! We love it! The pools are similar to the Dream and Fantasy. I think ship pools are on the small size and seem even smaller with all the people packed in them. Yes there are fireworks on Pirate Night and the show is just like the Dream and the Fantasy held late one evening. It is fun to get in the spirit of things and dress up. We have had great servers on the Magic and would say they are just as good as the other ships. Animators Palate is also wonderful on the Magic and just as good as the other ships. Don't miss dinner in there!! You all will have a fantastic cruise on the Magic!! Enjoy!!

All i know is that the adult pool on the Magic is a lot bigger than the adult pool on the Dream :)

That's true
Quiet Cove on Dream (Fantasy is same)

Quiet Cove on Wonder (same as Magic)

You can actually do some basic lap swimming on the classic ships. On the Dream class it's more a "hang out in the water" location with bar stools in the water at the bar.

I'm on the 10/28/15 Magic sailing. It is a Halloween cruise. The dates you saw indicate the latest *sail* date for Halloween festivities. On the Magic the next available sail date following 10/28/15 is 11/1/15 and it is not a Halloween cruise. (It's actually a chartered cruise but that's neither here nor there...)

We have also found that the quiet cove pool on the classics gets more sun and the area is just more comfortable.

Also the fireworks are part of the pirate show on the classics, so it is really cool how they work them into the show.

Edge on the Magic has just relocated from deck 2 up to the pool deck next to quiet cove where the games room was. My DD 12 had a great time with new friends in the Edge.
in the Med this summer there was one pirate show at 10 with fireworks as part of the show as previous posters have said.

AP show on the Magic is really good, but no turtle talk with crush, if that is important to you.

My son loved the Edge on the Magic, but it appears it is much smaller now that they relocated it...

The water slide in the kids pool is longer/better on the Magic. Kids pool is separated from family pool (they are right next to each other on the Fantasy and I didn't like that as much). Aquadunk vs Aquaduck

We do like the adult pool a little better on the classic ships, the design and larger size. I also want to say that we loved our servers on the Magic, as we have on all the ships. Don't think there's much difference? I mean, from one ship to another. They're mostly all so good.

We had wonderful servers on our Norway cruises this summer - Jose Luis and Aaron - we will request them again when we cruise the Med next summer.

We did not have fireworks on our back to back Norway cruises on the Magic. Apparently Norway and Iceland wouldn't allow it. We had Freezing the Night Away instead. I guess the fireworks really depend on where the ship is and if that country will allow it.

Really... That's interesting because We chose deck 2 because that was where Edge was.... As she was 12; Did she ever go into the kids club or only Edge? Thanks

Just got off the magic... Kids loved aquadunk more than dream's aquaduct.

Animators show is the same as the Wonder.. Servers we had were great.

We did have fireworks on pirate night. I don't recall any major differences from wonder or dream pirate nights.

I love the Carioca's menu

Well one difference would be - on the Magic & Wonder there is one pirate show after the late dinner seating. One where the "bad guy" pirates take over the show and Captain Mickey swings in to save the day, followed by the fireworks. On the Dream there are 2 pirate shows - one "kid friendly" (Mickey and company) between the two dinner seatings. And a "Jack Sparrow" type show after the late seating followed by the fireworks.

I don't really think the no fireworks in Norway had anything to do with local regulations, but was instead due to the very late sunset. I was on the first Norway cruise and during Freezing the Night Away it was still so light outside that fireworks would not have made any sense. I don't think we were ever up long enough for it to get totally dark. I remember a few evenings we watched the sun set and then went to bed...

We went in the Kids club together on the first day that was open house, she thought the things to do there were good, TV, computers, consoles and the Toy Story slide, we then went to the Edge to register and the whole area was much more grown up still with consoles, art lessons, games etc.
The cast members in the Edge were fantastic and they had much more freedom, she made some great friends from UK and US and formed 'the squad', 2 months later they are still in contact via Instagram etc.
Their favourite activity was going from deck 2 to the top deck to get chicken finger and fries for the cast members and get drinks! but lots of music, xbox games and activities around the ship too, assume you have looked at the Navigators so you can see whats on. They also met up and went to the movies together.
Gillian

Just an after thought, think if we had a cabin on Deck 2 (we were Deck 7) it would be too close to the Edge and would be in danger of cramping my DD's style!
Most of the time I resided by the adult pool and we communicated via the text system / app!
