DCL Trip Insurance Question?

We purchased the DCL trip insurance when we booked our cruise for this September but out of curiosity for future cruises is it really worth it? Do you purchase yours through someone else? Does anyone travel without it?

I purchase other trip insurance that covers more and its cheaper. Annual trip insurance + cruise cover is good.

Insurance is a must on a cruise so many things may go wrong, anyone not buying it its a false saving, so do buy one but with who you choose.

We purchased trip insurance for our European cruise this summer NOT through DCL. DCL quoted us around $750 for the cruise only. We covered the entire 21 day adventure with airfare, etc. for $450.

Like gdstone04, we purchase our insurance through an outside vendor. Much cheaper and covers more.

DCL insurance only covers whatever you've purchased through DCL. If you've purchased airfare/hotel stays independently, it's not covered.

There are several Trip Insurance comparison sites - just do an internet search for "travel insurance comparison sites". On those sites you enter the parameters of what you want covered (cancellation, flights, medical, evacuation, whatever) and they will show you several different policies from different companies that fit your request.

Wouldn't cruise without it! Also purchase from non-DCL vendor.

Care, "Comparison sites" may not show every policy on offer, through every provider, its best to do your own search as prices quoted may be basic and not cover things personal to you, its best to undertake a full google search as "comparison sites" may go for who pays them the best commission and some good companies may refuses to pay them commission.
