Does anyone know approximately what time frame the DCL bus transportation picks up guests from the Polynesian to transfer them to Port Canaveral? Also, what time to we need to have our bags packed and outside the room to be picked up and transferred to the ship?

Thanks for any information.

No way of knowing. The pick up schedule isn't set up until about 2 days out from the cruise. By they have the best information as to what resorts/how many people at each resort and can schedule the buses to fill them efficiently.

The pick up window from the resorts is 10:45ish to 1:30. Each bus MAY pick up at up to 3 resorts (or only one, depending how many people).

Bags typically must be ready for pick up (inside your room) by 8:00 am.

Thank you PrincessShmoo, I appreciate this information.

Yes- bags by 8am. Hard to tell with p/u, but in all our times leaving from Poly, it has been around 11:30 ish... Give or take 15 minutes on either side of it and a stop or two.

Pick up time ranges from 11 AM to 1:30 range (being the last pick up) It is a bit over an hour drive to Port Canaveral. Bags ready by 8 AM...don't forget to keep your documents, ID, Passports, medicine etc in a carry on to take on the bus with you as you will not see your luggage again until you board the ship and it arrives at your room after 1:30 to later.
You may want to keep swimwear, sunscreen, camera, flip flops, cover up etc in a carryon bag as well if you want to swim. Earliest departure should get you to port between 12:30 and 1 :00 PM if all goes well in best case scenario.

Thank you Sytrace for the information. I assume I can leave a carry on in my room in the closet until the 11am check out time? (meaning I don't have to vacate my room of all belongings at 8am if they are picking up luggage to transfer)

Yes, you can leave other bags in your room until you check-out. Just make sure they are segregated from the bags you want picked up (your plan of having your carry-ons in the closet sounds good). You don't have to be in your room when they pick up your bags (they start at 8am, not all bags are picked up at that time so they may not get to your room until closer to 9am; you don't want to waste your morning sitting around waiting for them to come for your bags!) So we like to make sure it is obvious which bags they should take and hide the ones they shouldn't. Just make sure the ones you want them to take are tagged!

Thanks for the information and confirmation of my plan citen.

Citen pretty much nailed it. I would suggest keeping the morning as stress-free as possible. No need to wait in the room for them to come and pick up your luggage. I keep the tagged bags out in the open so they see them as soon as they open the door. I'll usually go and have breakfast and they'll be gone once I return to the room. As others have said, there's really no real way to tell when the bus will come to your resort but you'll have that 11-1 window. In the past, I've been picked up around 12:30.

Final note: Do try to keep your carry-on bag light and packed with only your necessities because your room may not be ready once you're onboard which means you'll be hauling it around for the afternoon. I always feel bad for those poor unfortunate souls with roller bags navigating through the buffet. I was one of them once, too.

FWIW.... We had an 11:35 AM PU at the Poly. But like previous posters explained, this varies, but at least you have a general idea. HAVE FUN!!

The only consistency I've ever seen (including transfers three times in Europe) is that luggage is picked up at 8 am sharp. We've been picked up as early as 10:30 am (so it was a good thing I'd booked breakfast for 8 am in the hotel as I'd not expected that early a pick up) and as late as 12:30 pm which didn't leave until close to 1 pm. We've had buses which go to no other hotels for pick up, ones that go to 1-2 other resorts and ones where we were the second pickup.

Exactly our experience. We had pick up at 10:30am at BCV and then the next year in the same place, 12:15pm. There was also an indication of how many people were taking the transfer by where we were suppose to meet. Once we met at the little lounge beside Ariel's which was rather small. Another time it was the sunroom. I like the sunroom better since it was much easier and quicker to get to the bus.

The schedule depends on how many needs to be picked up by each bus. Years ago, I had to change my time because of flight time change and I asked if there was a general schedule. And I was told that it really depends on the number of guests in each resort. I recall once, we were at AKV and we filled the whole bus and went directly to the Port. The line was very long and I was surprised that we all fit in. Other times, it felt like there was only 2 or 3 families in each resort stop and it felt like we would never leave the area. It wasn't based on areas like Epcot resorts or MK resorts...we went all over the place. But we weren't too late getting into the Port....just felt like it.

Thanks DIS_MIKE I plan to keep my passport, DCL documents, medications, swimsuit, possibly Samsung tablet, maybe quick change of clothing. Basically a back-pack and not a roller bag

Thank you kiford! I'll be ready by 10:30am and plan on 12:30pm. Anything between 11am-1pm will be a nice surprise.

Thanks dvcdisney. I will be staying at the Polynesian Villas and Bungalows. Too bad there isn't a special bus for DVC members cruising!? ;-)

Also, what time to we need to have our bags packed and outside the room

Bags stay inside the room.

Last night of the cruise you out checked bags outside your door, but going to the cruise they come in your room.

Not if you have to meet at 10:30.

You’ll be told your cruise’s pickup schedule the day before. There is no set schedule overall.

I always feel bad for those poor unfortunate souls with roller bags navigating through the buffet.

I don’t. If I have my rolling bag it means o have exactly what I want and/or need with me, and I’m happy. And rolling a bag is much easier for me than carrying something.

I tend to carry on all my dinner dresses and my shoes for dinners, along with swimsuit etc. My cruise necessities. I’m a happy camper that way. Don’t feel sorry for me. :)

That would be nice. :-)

Sorry, I should have mentioned we also were picked up at Poly once and I believe it was around 11:30am. But, unfortunately, it's not really an indication of when you may be picked up. But if it's of any help, the latest we've been picked up was 12:45pm from BCV. And we were last on the pick up. I was nervous about how late it was, but it wasn't too bad. The great thing about it is that there's no waiting around. We walked in, checked in with no wait and immediately boarded.

Straight to the room to drop off stuff and up for lunch! I know many love to be early, but I don't mind be what might considered as late!
