We will be staying at WDW the night before embarkation, and using DCL transport to get to the ship on embarkation morning. I understand that I need to choose a PAT during online check-in, but I'm at the mercy of DCL transport as to when I arrive at port the day of sailing. What happens if DCL drops me off before my assigned PAT (from online check-in)?

You will most likely be assigned a boarding group # of 2, 3, 4 or 5..that seems to be what most DCL transfers from WDW are getting depending on how many people are coming from WDW resorts or the Hyatt at MCO. #1 seems to be Concierge but of course, as things do, that could change. We took DCL transfers 3 months ago from Coronado Springs and we received a PAT of 11:00 am and Boarding Group #3.

Call me crazy but I think Pearl and Platinum members deserve at least a boarding group of #2 since they took #1 away from us.

I agree wholeheartedly! We are about to be Platinum after our Sept cruise and it just seems like there is little incentive or rewards for reaching this status. If you’re not concierge, you don’t get much in the way of perks. Sad that loyalty isn’t rewarded as much as paying a premium. I say this even though we sail concierge - Sept will be our 3rd concierge cruise (10th overall) and it’s starting to feel as though this is the only way to sail and get any sort of tangible perks.

Just curious on a follow-up here. We are also staying at WDW the night before and taking the DCL transfer over the morning of our cruise this upcoming September. Have these PATs (groups 2-5) been consistent over the past month or so during the busier summer months?

We are travelling with a couple who booked a 12:30 pm mixology class on embarkation day. They were worried about not getting there on time.

Can't say for sure. I do know DCL recently seems to have quietly been giving Pearl members a very low boarding group number or not even having them pick a PAT time at all during online check in. Don't know if that will affect the other boarding group numbers. I still feel boarding numbers are called pretty quick once they are started. Maybe 5 minutes between the numbers being called.
