Hi everyone. This is my first post. We are going on our first Disney Cruise :)

We're heading to Universal/IOA after our Disney Cruise. We have DCL ground transfers from the port to our WDW hotel, and then we are arranging transfers from our WDW hotel to Universal/IOA. For those who have done this before, what time did you get to your WDW hotel after the cruise? We are on the Main Seating schedule, and I'm thinking a pick up time of 10/10:30 AM from WDW hotel to Universal. Is this reasonable?

Could be a bit tight. The DCL buses to the resort don't start leaving the port until 9:00. And it's quite likely that your bus could stop at a couple of different resorts before yours. The trip itself from port to WDW is about an hour. If all works well, you could be at your resort by 10:00 at best (if the bus actually departs the port at 9:00 and you are the first resort, and there's no traffic issues along the way), but you'd still need to check in and get into your room and all.

Depending on how many of you there are, you could consider 3rd party transfers/transport. We use FL Tours (sponsor of this site) and have leveraged the discount through DIS. It comes out (usually) cheaper than the cruiseline transfers as well as faster (especially leaving the port). If you Express disembark you can be off the ship pretty early and catch a transfer by 8:30. If you have you luggage taken the night before and have to wait for Express to clear, it can take a bit longer.

We did the Disney transfers the first 2 times, and since then have done private transports at a lower cost.

Are you staying at a WDW resort post-cruise? I'm not sure you can take DCL transfers to WDW unless you have a resort reservation starting that day. If your intent is to get from Port Canaveral and end up at Universal that same morning, I agree with others to skip the DCL transfers and either do a rental car or a private limo/car service. Otherwise, you're spending a lot of wasted time in transit (and probably cost as well).

Enjoy your cruise!

10am would be really tight. In the past we've arrived at around 1030-11am. I'm assuming you are staying at the WDW resort, so you want a little time to check your bags for storage. I would say 11am is more realistic for pick-up.

We are staying at the WDW resort and we bought the Universal/IOA tickets with ground transfers. Will update the pick up time to 11 AM.

Thanks everyone for your input :)
