DCL sprinkles a little pixie dust on my DS **UPDATED**

One of my little boy's favorite memories from our February first-time cruise was Goofy's Giggle Gala, and especially the travel-size pillow with Timon & Pumbaa on it that the kids got to color in the Oceaneer Club with Goofy that night. Unfortunately, that pillow was the one thing that got left in our stateroom and never turned up in lost & found. DS was really heart-broken about it.

Earlier this week, I decided to email DCL and see if it was possible to order another little pillow, like you can order stuff from the parks after-the-fact through WDW Merchandising. I knew it would probably be pricey, but I knew it would make my little boy happy. I got a really nice email today from DCL stating that they have requested one from the ship, and as soon as they have it in their hands they will send it to my son, no charge. Isn't that incredibly nice??? It was our fault for leaving the pillow behind, and I was fully prepared to cough up some $$ for another one.

It's things like this that make Disney, Disney, and keep us all coming back for more.

**UPDATE** 5/25/02:

We just came home to a package from DCL on our doorstep. They not only sent the complete travel pillow with the Timon and Pumbaa case on it, but they had it autographed again by Ernie Sabella!!! I remember someone posting that Mr. Sabella had also been on their cruise recently, but I never dreamed DCL would go to the trouble of asking him to autograph another pillow for my son. Disney just never ceases to amaze me.

It doesn't surprise me at all. The DCL crew is the best, and they really go out of their way for their guests.
I'm glad that your DS will be able to get his pillow case and have another memory of the cruise.

that is right Ernie sabella was on the 5/11/02 inaugural magic cruise with us .... this man is so nice just a regular guy
had several occasion to speak to Ernie.. and see him on the ship
always joking around good for u ...
and that is disney for u..
one time we asked Disney to do something for us there was a little Boy bye the name of George who gave his spending money
to charity ... instead of having it for his up coming cruise and
we asked disney to do something for him and they did we got an autograph poster and some other stuff for him and we mailed it to him as kind of a thank u from the mouse of course for doing such a nice thing

What really touched me was that they obviously didn't just put the pillow under Mr. Sabella's face and said, "Here, sign this" -- he had signed it "To Tyler Dean, Love Pumbaa, Ernie Sabella" just like the first one.

I went in to cover up my little guy last night before I went to sleep, and he had the pillow clutched to his chest. It brought happy tears to my eyes.

I purchased three photo albums on our 4/20 Magic trip. After I got home, I realized that one of them was broken. I faxed a letter to the merchandising dept asking where I could return the album and receive a replacement. I never did receive a reply from them --- but about a week or so later a package arrived with a new album!! I did provide my name, date, and stateroom on my letter so they could confirm that I did in fact purchase the items mentioned.

Thumbs up for DCL merchandising customer service!
