I usually print mine in 12 x 12 matte finish from a place online called Scrapbook Pictures. They are $3.49 each and frequently go on sale for $2.49 each, and they charge a $2 flat rate shipping charge regardless of how many you order. I've printed from Creative Memories also to compare the quality, and I feel it is comparable. I have been very happy with them. The website is here: http://www.scrapbookpictures.com/SBPView.jsp. I put the prints in my albums. This way I can include memorabilia also if I want and even some traditional pages (hybrid scrapbooking). For the DCL cruise this time, though, I think I am going to print a bound StoryBook from Creative Memories or Shutterfly because I think I am going to have a ton of pages.

As far as cost, I do think digital is less expensive. I went a little crazy before our cruise and DL trip and bought a bunch of digital kits that I knew would be perfect for the diffierent things we were doing... So I did spend some $$. But the big digital kits that are jam packed run around $5 each, so they are affordable. I could walk into a scrapbooking store and easily spend $50 on a little handful of papers and stickers. The beauty of digital is that once you buy it you can reuse it over and over again... recolor it, resize it, etc. etc. I love that. And I LOVE that I don't have a mess to drag out. I still use my traditional supplies for making little quick gift albums, cards, etc. There's some good info. on the DIS Scrapbooking Thread if you'd like to look around.... http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=123 :goodvibes

Timon, I love the Pixie Dust in your Key West layout. Where did you get it? Your layouts are fabulous!!!

Oh my goodness, these are great!

On our last DCL I did a DCL scrapbook thought I bought on board. It took 18 hours to do. Love it but, ugh! I know I sound like a dummy but you send your pics to Shutterfly then buy these online kits? HOw does it work? I 'm technologically challenged.

Post 234 is Absolutely Wonderful. Where did it come from? A kit? Which one, etc.? I'd love to know. We've got a 7 night DCL in October and I'm gearing up.

Also, with all this digital stuff, what do you do with your menus, pics from Shutters, and mementos?

i love the look of digi scrapbooking! But I am a old fashion girl!! :lovestruc I love getting out all my stuff! My Dh would love for me to go digi. But I have major OCD.... I have 24 scrapbooks, can't switch over now!!!:rotfl:

Hi -- You don't sound like a dummy. I had no clue what digital scrapbooking was until I started looking around, and then I could not believe what was out there. You buy or find for free (there are lots of freebies on the web) digital kits with papers and embellishments and then you create pages just like you would with actual papers and stickers, etc. You have to have some program that supports layering. There are a lot of different programs. Once the page is completed on my computer, I then either order an actual 12 x 12 page print and then slide the page right into my album... or, I collect up a bunch of pages and then upload them to Shutterfly or Creative Memories and purchase a bound storybook (which is more like a yearbook). If I print the 12 x 12 pages, then I can put them in my albums and include some traditional pages with memorabilia, etc. If I do the bound Storybook type album, them I scan in my memorabilia and make pages with it.

The credits for post 234 are here: http://scrapmatters.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-8265
(I upload to the gallery here for fun...You can find the listed kits at the "Shop" on the top of the page... it will give you an idea of what's out there and how it all works. There are many different designers and many different online digital scrapbooking stores. I sometimes mix and match stuff from kits -- just like you would do in traditional scrapbooking.)

There is some great info. about digi scrapping on the DIS Scrapbooking Thread.....http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=123
There's an FAQ sticky at the top, and people are great about giving ideas and answering questions.

Hope this helps! :goodvibes

ROCK ON CHRISTY!!! These are simply amazing! Really great eye for layout! I am so glad you are sharing! popcorn:: :worship:

You also scrap in my style! I sooo can not stick to one pic per page! This is so much fun to look at your pages!

Thanks :goodvibes I design most of my own stuff in Photoshop, including the Pixie Dust :thumbsup2

Christy,

I have a question. Do the kits come with the paper with the brushed Mickey Heads or did you brush them? I keep looking at her kits and I don't see the mickey head parts of them. I get how to do the glitter ones, but not the brushes - unless you brush it, but since you use SB I am assuming you don't use brushes like you would in PS (I don't do brushes unless they are *.pngs because I scrap in Lumapix so don't think I run around brushing paper either). I have the same question about the buttons. I have those buttons, but from Scrap Monkey from a long time ago. I don't see them in the previews for the kits for Britt-ish.

Sorry to be so technical. :scared:

I am so glad you asked -- I should have put this in the credits. That designer (Britt-ish Designs -- who I LOVE) frequently makes little Disney freebie add-ons to go with her kits. You can find them on her blog.... I did a search just now to see if they are still there..... You usually have to scroll down a bit to find them:

Mouse in the House Freebie:
