Shirley from Perfect Gift posted the following on Facebook regarding deliveries to DCL.... maybe it's time to let DCL know this is not a good thing....

It is will deepest regret that I have to announce that DCL will no longer allow me to deliver to the Disney Cruise Ships as of today. I understand that they have implemented new directions and that is why I can no longer make or deliver to Disney. I have been doing this for 15 years and always without no issues and needless to say, I am so brokenhearted over this decision but I have to abide by their wishes and commands. To ALL OF MY FRIENDS AND CUSTOMERS, I want to personally thank you for all the kindness shown to me through the years and want to wish each of you all the happiness, health and wealth throughout your life. I will miss going to the ships, I will miss making your custom gift baskets and wish it could have continued. I do not know what I did wrong, for nothing changed in the past 15 years. I am hard working and honest but guess that wasn't good enough. Anyhow know we do deliver to the other ships at the port for anyone that is interested.

How terrible. I hate when you see decisions like this made that are clearly just to ensure people have less option and have to choose the similar Disney services that are a million times more expensive.

I agree cutting the competition...but Shirley has such a good rep...and she does flowers etc...this is going to cut into her business a lot...and it's not good to show good will to those businesses that share the home port...

I'm wondering if they will start to limit the liquor you can bring on board. Like the other lines do...

what if its' just too many for them to handle if you include the dreams unlimited ones as well, it may be getting to the point where there are too many gift baskets being delivered to the cruise line to put them in rooms and they don't have the time to get them to the proper rooms

Honestly, I can see DCL's reasoning on this. I doubt they allow her to go on the ship and make the actual deliveries as that would be an issue all on its own. Which means she just drops them off at the port and then Disney is expected to actually take them to the rooms. Why should Disney pay their employees to deliver something that is obvious competition to something they already offer? I'm surprised that people are shocked that Disney finally said no about it.

I believe it gets delivered to the port but there was always a delivery fee charged by dcl
