Interesting comment from the reservation agent. IMHO, I would laugh at her comment. Unfortunately, cruise line reservation agents are not always the most well informed although Disney is better than most. You wouldnt believe the reservation agent I recently had on RCCL. Basically, I was on my own. A
travel agent (such as
Dreams Unlimited) who specializes in the cruise you desire can be invaluable. I have no relationship with Dreams although I am forever indebted to them for gracefully rescuing my last cruise when a work emergency came up.
This board is a great source of information, and unless you are traveling with a
Disney Cruise guru, the online community is an invaluable resource. Of course, we all need to apply our own filters and use common sense regarding rumors etc. You may want to preface your question to reservation agents by saying, I have heard
instead of I read on DisBoards
. It is less threatening to some reservation agents.
The Internet, and its subsequent online communities, allows information to travel freely regardless of distance and time. It is a whole new world and savvy companies should use the medium to their advantage instead of being threatened by the free flow of information.
Every traveling party needs someone who has the time and disposition to get information from online. Let me also take the time to thank all the members of this online community who, by sharing their experiences and opinions, have allowed my to have some great vacations on Disney and other cruise lines.
