I see a Pirates in the Carribbean Scavenger Hunt in my Passporter at CC...is this what you did???

It says it's free and info gets posted in your personal navigator the night before you get to CC. It's called "Hunt Orientation" in the PN. You have to go to the Hunt Orientation to get a packet to play. It does require good reading skills and a keen eye so an adult would most likely be needed to get thru all the clues. There is a prize at the end if you finish. "The reward isn't anything valuable."

Yes, that is what it was. The reward was a silver coin. On one side it says we found the treasure and on the other it says Disney Cruise Line. :) Not valuable, but a free souvenier. It was a fun way to pass the time and see things at CC.

You can absolutely do this without kids!

I think the book is recommending kids not try it without an adult~it's supposed to be real challenging...

Jessica, Was it difficult to solve? How long did it take you to complete?

It took my mother & I about an hour. Most of that was just walking time, though. My daughter (14) was on an excursion. The hardest part was the first clue. We ended up skipping it for the end. About halfway through the clues, I'd guessed the final location, but we walked through it all for fun anyway. My daughter joined us at the end. I think my mom & I were way more excited about it than the child was. :D

How do you insert a picture?

You first have to upload your photos onto some sort of website (like Photobucket or something). If you already have you photos on a website, you're good to go. Just copy the web address of your image, then come to post it here on the DISboards. When you are writing your post, click the icon of the mountain just above your postbox. Paste the web address of you photo there, and it should show up here.

Good luck! :)

Hey i have one of those... LOL..that is a picture of DH at CC. He would also kill me if posted..lol..heck i will post it anyway...

That is very nice of him to hold up that tree while you took a picture of it :rotfl:

Bumping this up because we were on page 3.

We saw this lady just standing there one night.

You can not actually go on the Flying Dutchman. The only way to even get close is to rent a personal water craft or take the Eco Wave Runner tour.

There are at least two people on in in that pic. ;)

Not sure how they managed that. We rented a paddle boat and were told to stay at least 20 feet from the buoy line that kept us away from The Flying Dutchman. It would be fun to go on it, though.

Didn't even see them. :confused3

Anyway, they must have snuck on somehow. Last I heard, it was off limits. I guess it's beginning to show weather wear already and having 1000 people on it every time the ship docks would be very damaging.

We saw people taking a water boat class thing . . . they were those small, one-person boats that you drive yourself. Anyway, they were all in a group together, so I'm assuming it was a class. Anyway, someone got their boat stuck on a sandbar neat the Flying Dutchman (like, right next to it) and the class instructor was scolding her as we passed by. "I TOLD YOU NOT TO GO NEAR THE PIRATE SHIP!!!"

Maybe I should bring along a clip of the DCL CEO saying that if you want an up close and personal experience with the Flying Dutchman you could take one of the personal watercraft there.
