Hi Robin,

This item is still included in the party package, and the reason you are not seeing it is because its description was changed in the FAQ....it is now listed as "Disney Cruise kids only CD".

It was indeed produced just for this event and is never-before-seen.

Confusing...the DVD says this on the list...Disney Cruise Kids only DVD– the kids will love this. 20 minutes of slapstick fun
Kids slap stick DVD :confused3

I have e-mailed him back again to see it there will be an Adult DVD to show to the Adults that are interested in seeing more...not a never seen before Slapstick kids DVD.[/quote]

Heres what David just sent back to me....

I believe you are correct in that this DVD will be for the Kids entertainment much moreso than the adults, and I don't think there is going to be a more adult-geared DVD for the event.

:rotfl:

I'm thinking HP will never do anything for Disney again. With all of us freaky Disney fans asking so many questions:laughing:
I imagine no one has asked them the color of the napkins for the Hillshire Farms party or how many cups will be included with the Lipstick Jungle party. I think they are messing with the wrong crowd!:lmao: :rotfl:

So right about that one. We Disney fans tend to go a little "overboard." pirate:
But when Disney gives the best, then that is what we expect all the time everytime. I hope we all get a little :wizard: in our boxes.

I think your plan sounds just right! :thumbsup2

We are keeping the live part of our party simple but nice -- some girlfriends, good food, drinks. I have a smallish house. :)

The driving force behind HP is viral marketing -- creating positive online buzz about the product, generating hits to the DCL website, etc. I've invited tons of folks that I know cannot possibly come to my house, but they will visit the party site and create HP accounts, enter the sweepstakes, browse the DCL website, get positive exposure to the product.

That said, it IS important to have some fun DCL goodies to offer to the live partygoers. I am looking forward to seeing what actually is in the box! I am hoping that it will exceed our expectations -- sort of like your first DCL cruise. pixiedust:
I am also going simple. Just getting my house clean, fun food, fun drinks. I am not buying a lot of party gifts etc. as I don't want my guests to feel uncomfortable that I spent a lot on stuff for them. It's just not that kind of party for us.

But I too am reading all these post with lots of interest popcorn:: and trying to pull in cool ideas that I can adapt.

Either way - friends getting together is never a bad thing!

I wonder if that's the new video that they made on the ship and on Castaway Cay in mid-December. I hope so, even if it's for kids, since a couple of us on this board might be in the video! :yay: We don't have any kids attending our party, but we'll watch the video anyway.

I see there are no balloons mentioned on the new list. Rats! DCL balloons would have been great for decorating as well as fastening to the mailbox to indicate where the party's at. Guess we'll get some red-white-blue ones to use.

We raided the local Disney store recently during their semi-annual 50% off sale. They are closing on January 21st for 3 months to relocate, so they had lots of stuff marked down even further. We've got lots of game prizes and also door prizes to give out. Now I just need to send reminders to the guests who have not RSVP'd yet.

It still says 16 ballons under party supplies.

Oops- you're right. I read too fast. Balloons - yayyy!! I love balloons.

We had a party at work one time and decorated the party room with balloons. One of my co-workers walked into the room and immediately turned deathly pale and had to leave the room. He said when he was little his older brother filled the bathtub with balloons and made him climb in and then held him under and almost "drowned" him in the balloons. As a result the guy has a deep-seated fear of balloons. He's probably in his 60s and it was so weird to see him get physically weak and pale when he saw all those balloons. :scared1:

My girlfriend who has been listening to me talk about my plans for this party just confirmed 3 rooms for March! She said she wants in on the fun. I knew she and her DH have talked about cruising, not Disney cause she isn't into that type of thing so she says, but last night she called and said We're in! She also booked 2 rooms for her grown girls too!:yay:  :woohoo: :yay: I pointed her to the DIS and told her to start planning! She was able to get some excursions and Palo's dinner so far! This is BEFORE my party! Who needs freebies! :)
I hope everyone's plans are going well. I re-emailed people who didn't confirm the first time and got more confirmations! I also found 2 treasure chests I used for Halloween a few years ago and ordered bulk chocolate coins to fill it up with along with some treasures and loot bags for the kids to fill and take home. I made copies of the music from the survival CD and other Caribbean music we had and will give those out as take home gifts so my guests to listen to, "happy music" as my friends like to call the Caribbean beat, on the way home from the par-tay!

Look up links for your guests to look up their pirate name and add it to your party site. They will have to cut and paste the link but it is fun I've asked my guests to post it to my blog.

last weekend we made the miami vice, konk kooler, snowflake and decided to serve the konk kooler and snow flake for the adults. YUM!!

ARRRRRRRRE YE HAVIN' FUN YET?!!

I'm not familiar with the Snowflake drink. Anyone care to share the recipe?
We loooove the Konk Koolers but another kind of drink might be nice, too.
THanks

Made a few more arrangements last night. I ordered a bunch party items from Oriental Trading. I got the cruise plates, cups and napkins. I also ordered some decorations, shells and sand dollars to put around the house. I decided to make our upstairs the kids club so I ordered some treasure chest craft kits and pirate hat kits. The kids can decorate their treasure chests and fill them with pirate coins, gems and beads. I wanted a favor for the adults to take home too. I found these great silver luggage tags that are shaped like a cruise ship. I can't wait to give them out. Still have to plan the food. What is everyone else serving?

I used the recipes from this link for the snowflake and konk kooler. The orange mango soup, yum! We didn't use the welches passion orange we found a drink from brandname, Hawaii's Own, called passion fruit & orange that was wonderful in the KK drink, but I think the product may only be on the west coast. Not sure. I found it at Walmart for .98/can it's in the frozen juice section. It beat buying both juices and the konk kooler got 2 thumbs up from the lushes, er I mean guinea pigs, er I mean taste testers!:cool1:

We made virgin snowflakes and my nephews loved them! I am using an idea from another Diser here and making strawberry smoothies with the frozen dacquri mix, ice cream, and milk. I ordered 50 pirate cups from Oriental Trading Co. and only the kids drinks will go in them so we won't get them mixed up. :dance3:

Hey Guys, when you clicked on the site to enter the sweepstakes and was taken to the page to up-load photos, after you did another picture, where you taken to a page to fill out for the sweepstakes? Are you automatically entered into the sweepstakes when you up-load the photos? The rules say you will be navigated to another page to fill out, but this did not happen? What have you guys done?:confused3 :surfweb: :confused3

No, there is nothing else to fill out (and the upload is only optional, too). They are supposed to send everyone an email confirming your entry by 1/25.

We are supposed to be getting a CD but it is island music and I was looking for the sailaway party. Here's the current content from HouseParty's site:
Exclusive host gifts, balloons, posters, cocktail napkins, pirate garb, island music CD, a never-been-seen Disney Cruise Line DVD, children's activity sheets, party prizes, recipe cards, party favor bags and more

Hi Everyone!

I am also hosting a party! I have a question though that I haven't seen answered here: How does the Host benefit from the party?

I know we get a $50 obc. Other than that, do we get anything for bookings? If not, why are you spending hundreds of dollars on these parties?

Who said they were spending hundreds of dollars on our parties? Not that it is anyone's business, Yes, I have spent some money, though not hundreds, and it is because my family and friends are worth it!!
What am I getting out of it? A great time with my family and friends, a chance to talk about my passion of Disney, the cruises, even theme parks and share ideas with people who are cruising DCL. If Disney gets a booking, which they have, good on them! For me, it's more people to talk DCL cruising with. If you are throwing a party to "get" something from Disney, why bother? Why is the question "What do we get?" keep turning up here? Why does this have to be a, "What's in it for me thing"? Yeesh! :sad2:

Anywho I hope everyone has a great party. Good Luck.

btw a $50 obc is good enough for me.

I am not looking to benefit from Disney Cruise Line or House Party for having this party. I am inviting friends, neighbors and co-workers to the party and am looking forward to having a great time and telling them about our past experiences with Disney Cruise Line. The amount of money I am spending has nothing to do with what I may receive in return except to hear people say thanks for inviting them because they had a good time.

This party should be whatever you want it to be and spend whatever you want to spend. Make the most of it and just have fun! Konk Kooler anyone?

Hey - what about "Mickey" by Toni Basil, and "Come Sail Away" - I think it is Styx?? Would you be interested is 'selling' one of your cd's to someone that isn't as good w/the I-tunes and burning CDs? (that means me! :worship: LOL) All the songs are great - All of the music is really upbeat and great to get people in the party mood!! Are you giving the CDs to your guests as gifts??
