What does this change from the current restrictions?
You will hear a few different views on this... It all depends on the ships vaccination status, and color scheme. In some cases, it states that KN95 style masks should be provided to passengers, and arrival testing mandatory if the ship has a certain # of cases onboard. In others, it does lessen the indoor masking requirements... Ultimately, the CDC sets the minimum standards and cruise lines can choose to meet or exceed these guidelines... and arguably, DCL has been doing more than the bare minimum required by the CDC... In my mind, it does not change much at this time...What does this change from the current restrictions?
The fact that Royal Caribbean and Norwegian are on the list makes me wonder if this was the "opt in" from earlier in the year.
The DCL opt-in, as well as Carnivals was just added today. NCL opted in earlier. The only major that has not opted in yet is RCL... according to the DashboardAgree, today was the opt-in deadline and the graph is dated yesterday. I wouldn't expect an accurate view until mid-next week with the Federal Holiday.

I will not speculate on what DCL will do regarding booster. However, Safe Passage has been updated to allow one to indicate their booster status. CDC is not making it mandatory, but it does impact whether a ship can meet the new CDC "Vaccination Standard of excellence"What about boosters? is there a chance DCL and the cruise lines will add boosters as part of the vax status?
That would throw a wrench on our upcoming cruise as neither my DD or I are boosted. DW and DMIL are but me and DD decided not to after checking with our doctor.
Where is this area too add the booster?I will not speculate on what DCL will do regarding booster. However, Safe Passage has been updated to allow one to indicate their booster status. when you enter your vaccination details, there is a checkbox to add details on boosters. Note that if you already have a Safe Passage profile, it may not allow you to update your profile at this time.Where is the area in safe passage can you add your booster?
According to the CDC website: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/stay-up-to-date.html
Get Vaccinated and Stay Up to Date
Up to date means a person has received all recommended COVID-19 vaccines, including any booster dose(s) when eligible.
Fully vaccinated means a person has received their primary series of COVID-19 vaccines.
“Fully Vaccinated=
2 weeks after final dose in primary series.”
Primary series is the vaccines without boosters. Boosters are not required for travel on cruise ships.
I was showing the current CDC definitions for the new voluntary cruise line requirement to achieve the standards set.“Fully Vaccinated=
2 weeks after final dose in primary series.”
Primary series is the vaccines without boosters. Boosters are not required for travel on cruise ships.
