In our latest newsletter from DVC it talks of Disney offering up 2 new cruise ships both will be 2 decs larger than teh current ships and are slated for launch in 2011 and 2012.
Cruise line returning west, expanding fleet
Having sailed off the west coast for the first time in summer 2005 as part of the Happiest Celebration On Earth, Disney Cruise Line® is preparing to return the Disney Magic® ship to the Port of Los Angeles for an encore engagement in summer 2008.
Beginning May 25, 2008, the storied ship will set sail for 12 consecutive seven-night voyages through the Mexican Riviera, making scheduled stops in Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta. These special voyages, each of which include three days at sea, will depart on May 25; June 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29; and July 6, 13, 20 and 27; and Aug. 3 and 10, 2008.
The ship also will offer two 15-night Panama Canal Cruise itineraries as it moves between its Florida and California homes. The westbound voyage, departing on May 10, 2008, will feature eight days at sea along with scheduled stops at Castaway Cay, Acapulco, Puerto Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas and, of course, a pass through the famed Panama Canal. The eastbound voyage, meanwhile, departing on Aug. 17, 2008, will feature a similar itinerary, with a stop in Cartagena, Colombia, replacing one of the days at sea.
Call Member Services at (800) ******** to book a west coast voyage using Vacation Points. Remember that Member Services typically experiences low call volume on Thursdays from 7-10 p.m. Eastern Time and on Saturdays from 3-5 p.m. Eastern Time, so calling during those hours may be your quickest connection to your dream voyage.
In related news, Disney Cruise Line has announced plans to expand its fleet with two new ocean liners scheduled to launch in 2011 and 2012.
The new 122,000-ton ships will be two decks taller than the existing 83,000-ton Disney Magic and Disney Wonder® ships. Each ship will feature 1,250 staterooms. Specific design plans and itineraries for the yet-unnamed ships are still in development.
