Thanks for the heads up! We’re sailing with you and our jet boat excursion has been removed from our activities as well. I pretty much expected it to be canceled, but the lack of communication is unacceptable. We’re also amongst those whose rooms were changed with no notice. We're sailing 11/6 on the Fantasy which is a 2 stop sail at CC. 16 days before we sail DCL deletes/cancels our parasailing on day 2 at CC. No notice. No email. No warning. It's just gone. Thanks a lot DCL.
No, they didn't. I found out my self by looking at "My Plans". They could have easily sent an email instead of just deleting it. And I don't care who runs the excursions. All I know is I booked it through DCL, it's on their private island and as far as I'm concerning it's a DCL excursion. You don't know when DCL knew that it wasn't going to be available.Sounds like they did a pretty good job communicating since you know. Right now, with every sailing potentially in question, I think folks should be prepared for excursions to be canceled along with everything else. Besides, Disney doesn't run the excursion, an independent vendor does. As soon as Disney knew it wasn't going to be available from the vendor, they pulled it down
I agree. I don't know when DCL knew, and neither do you. I only bring it up because judging from all the other cruise blogs I follow, this is a common issue for all cruise lines. And with other lines, often notice isn't received until after the guests have started their cruise. Just the nature of the restart, everything is in flux. No, they didn't. I'm upset that they still offer Parasailing as an excursion to start with. We're sailing 11/6 on the Fantasy which is a 2 stop sail at CC. 16 days before we sail DCL deletes/cancels our parasailing on day 2 at CC. No notice. No email. No warning. It's just gone. Thanks a lot DCL.
48 hours (at least) and still no email from DCL.our parasailing was cancelled too.....about a week out.
They did email about 12 hours after we noticed it was gone. That's about the time our TA got a notification too
The same happened with another port adventure
That's unacceptable customer service. I'm done with covid being the excuse for everything now.I agree. I don't know when DCL knew, and neither do you. I wish I knew about the "family excursion bubble" before I booked a jeep tour/scavenger hunt in Nassau. Or maybe I didn't read the fine print or really understand.![]()
I haven’t found anywhere where it says this. I knew about it from reading these boards and FB groups so I didn’t look to hard but it’s definitely not obvious.
Yikes! That doesn't sound like a fun excursion especially for the prices Disney charge.Thanks. We couldn't get out of the jeep to take pictures, use the restroom, or buy souvenirs. We got out once and that was to stretch our legs at a little beach area and that was because it was no one at this location. The driver told us if anyone wanders off, they are required to provide the names to Disney and Disney will remove you from the ship. It was the same with the Dolphin excursion in Cozumel. We were escorted off the ship as a group, lead to transportation as a group, went through the park as a group, and told not to leave the area that was set up for us.
Not the excuse sadly, the reality. And like I have posted, not a unique complaint with any cruise line right now. One of the Vloggers I follow just did two back to back Alaska cruises and he said some of the excursions that did operate were a joke compared to what they were in the past. They just don't have the staff to operate them and they probably should have been canceled. Looks like Australia is basically telling the cruise industry that they won't be allowing ships to return until at least 2023, so those lines will have advance notice to move ships etc. That's unacceptable customer service. I'm done with covid being the excuse for everything now.
I mean, I distinctly recall that in the 3 times that we stopped at Castaway Cay pre-covid, parasailing was cancelled. Nobody on that excursion found out until they were on the island and got to the chalkboard that said "parasailing cancelled." So not sure I agree it's gotten worse post Covid. Excursions get cancelled all the time. DCL does not operate them--third party providers do and they decide when to cancel. You don't get charged if it doesn't happen. Not sure what the big deal is.That's unacceptable customer service. I'm done with covid being the excuse for everything now.
I bet those cancellations were weather related. That's quite a god memory from at least 2 years ago. Also quite an amazing coincidence that it was cancelled 3 time that you were on CC. Perhaps you don't think it's a big deal but we do.I mean, I distinctly recall that in the 3 times that we stopped at Castaway Cay pre-covid, parasailing was cancelled. Now if it truly was a DCL thing getting cancelled, like Palo brunch, or a Cabana, I agree I'd be ticked off to not get some kind of communication from a cruise line.
Not really a coincidence—that one gets cancelled all the time. And I do have a photographic memory, it’s good for the good stuff in life, awful for the bad/painful stuff, and funny for the random stuff (I remember every dish I’ve eaten at every restaurant I’ve visited, and where to find a quote in the middle of a book, for example).I bet those cancellations were weather related. Was looking at DW and mine plans for our Nov 1 cruise on the Dream and noticed they removed our Tequila and Margarita Tastings.
Not happy about this.
Guess will check every day for openings.
Have a great day!
