DCL MagicBands and using them at WDW

I've looked and haven't been able to find an answer.

Can I attach my son's DCL MagicBand to my MDE account to allow him to use it at WDW? It's his first MagicBand and he'd like to use it until the battery dies.

Link the ID # from the underside of the MB to your son's Profile/line in MDE.

It will work because Disney wanted to coordinate WDW hotel room and DCL cabin/ship usage. Once linked, the MB will provide the link to your son's data.

I just got off the Disney Dream and I heard one of the kids club counselors tell a guest that you cannot use the same band because its a different system. Try it, but it may or may not work.

I checked with some CM friends and it's only DCL CM MB's that can be used in the parks. The ones from the kid's club can't be used even though they look identical to the WDW MBs.
