Count us in. How scary is zip lining? On hawaii 5-0 the line broke:scared1:

LOL I am sure that was just on there. I will start researchng the zip line at Grouse Mtn. We could rent a van and drive up there an see some of the sights.

What about you guys?

Tommy is doing paperwork and I am trying to find where to get the topper for the cake Meg is wanting. :surfweb: We meet with the florist next week. Everything is going so well. I want to have everything done before the cruise except for the last minute things. I go back to the Dr tomorrow and am hoping to go back to work next week. The cake is less than I had budgeted so Tommy is happy. So far we have been under budget for everything which means more drinks on the ship for me. :thumbsup2

Hope all goes well tomorrow. You guys have this wedding stuff down to a science.Megan seems very easy going for a bride to be!!!

Hi,

I just sent a request to join the facebook group.

Thanks!

Got it . I think we were on the WB Repo together.

I read on the main boards, yes for Pirates and no for fireworks!!! So why do it if no fireworks!!

What a shame that is my favorite part. We usually just grap dessert and go to the cabin, sit on the balcony and watch the fireworks.

Certainly sounds like more fun!!!!

I still like the idea of the accounting job on the ships. Tommy could mop the floors. :lmao::rotfl2: Tommy just came out of his office so I gess I will spend some time with him since he will be gone tomorrow night. Talk to you tomorrow

Good luck. We just finished our wedding planning last weekend. A year of planning and work, DONE! It was great and I am glad I did so much in advance, becasue no matter what there are those last minute things that have to get done and stress level gets higher. Of course there is always, if it can go wrong it will. Count on it. Late at night when the stores are closed.

I one thing that just frosted my tail was how people cannot RSVP. I wanted to call and witch them out. We paid for the postage. It wasnt like it was going to cost them anything to mail it. It cost us over 2.00 to mail each invitation. I could have saved that money from the RSVP envelopes and bought a lot of drinks on this cruise.:cool1:

WOW, clearly, I am still a little miffed about it.:rolleyes1

Love the idea of a meet before hand. We are staying at Pan Pacific arriving on Sat. We are planning on going to Stanley park, Chinatown, gastown, Granville Island, possibly Grouse Mt.- the kids would love to zip-line there.

Christi

We'll be at the Pan Pacific pre cruise also...we get in Sunday morning

I have gone through this thread and think I have all the folk that are on this cruise. Before we go to the new thread I thought I would post here to see if there are any corrections. If there are corrections please let me know.:surfweb:

We arrive in Vancouver on 8/14, as we're doing about 10 days before in Vancouver and Seattle. We'll be at the Westin Bayside when we arrive and pre-cruise we'll be at the Fairmont at the airport. I bought our zip lining tickets yesterday for Grouse. I didn't want to get shut out and have no times available. They're 117 CAN per person.

Is anyone staying at the Sheraton Wall Center? I heard that the China town night market is really neat as well. Three days pre-cruise just isn't enough time! I would love to do the Beluga experience at the aquarium with my kids 8 and 10 but there is so many other things that we want to hit too. Granville is on our to do list as well as the Capillano suspension bridge.

Any tips or advice? It is our DD getting married in Oct. Her DF is a wonderful person. I have heard that RSVP is a problem. I think I am going to call family that does not RSVP. You are righ it is expensive to mail invitations. We have ordered reply cards too and am going to put the postage on them. Wow $2.00 per invitation. I need to up that in our budget. Good thing we have saved in other places. :) Our DS got married a couple years ago but we were not allowed to be involved in it after we offered to pay. It is a long and sorted story. :scared1: We are looking forward to the cruise to get energized before the wedding. They had originally wanted to do it on a Disney cruise but then some family and friends were not happy that they would not be there so we are doing the big wedding thing.:rolleyes1

I really want to do that. I could not decide between doing it in Alaska or in Canada. What website did you use to make the reservations?

Our cost so much because they were a little larer then normal and also the thickness. I did read about some RSVP services, but we did not look into them. Folks did not even RSVP for the rehersal dinner. The bride emailed everyone. Funny thing is that they answered their email.:surfweb: We should have done it all on the internet...lol

My only advice is that do as much as early as possible so your stress level does not have peaks. For me I had to keep saying that this was about the bride and what she wanted everytime a family member complained. Her colors were black for the bridal party with red accent and she wore Ivory. Not what I would have chosen, but it was not about me. In the end it was beautiful. We did hire a lighting company for the ceremony and reception and it was defiately that final attention to detail that tied it all together.

We also made a lot of the stuff ourselves. I have a cricut machine, which was an absolute life saver for making the favors. Cheaper too!:thumbsup2

Thanks for the advice. I am hoping the invtations they have picked out will be a little lighter. For favors we are having a photo booth. THey will get 2 pictures one for them with the date and the other for them to paste in a book and write something to the bride an groom. It should be a lot of fun. The wedding is planned to be out side by a lake at the country club where we belong and the reception in the ball room. I am a little nervious about being outside and the weather but we have a plan b if that does not work out. THey will be geting married by my Uncle in english and spanish. Bless his heart he is learning the ceramony in Spanish for Jose's family that will be here from sain and cuba. It should be interesting. I like black dresses very flattering to all the brides maids. Meg's colors are wine and champange. We debated on canceling the cruse after they got engaged but decided we need it!
