Excursions are up!:cool1:

NOw to decide..... They all look good. We are really interested in a canopy zipline tour. My son just got home from a cruise on Allure of the Seas. They went ziplining in a rainforest that was in a cave. He said it was awesome.

Looks like only the Skagway excursions are up - hope we can get the helicopter and dog sledding tour. We want to kayak in Juneau and zipline in Ketchikan.

Might want to try again later. They were all up earlier.

They came back up. I'm happy that they have a huge variety but glad they have the tours that we are interested in. It helps to have been to Alaska before so we kind of know what it is that we want to do on this trip.

We're stymied by an 8 year old. All the biking, kayaking, ziplining and rappelling requires either an age or height requirement to be met. Sigh......

You should just send her along with us. We can't do all the biking, kayaking, ziplining and rappelling mostly because of Jim's foot...I won't mention any of the other issues. We'd be happy to take her with us so you can do some of that.

Hmmmmmm...........:)

It's a serious offer. I would hate for you and Sean to miss out on the adventurous things you love to do. Even if I shrink down to the proper size, we won't be able to do those things because Jim just can't.

Looks like I'm going to book with an independent outfitter in Juneau for our kayak trip and through Shore Trips for the zipline in Ketchikan. Can save a few bucks on those trips since the helicopter/dog sledding trip is the expensive one - which we knew going in that was going to be pricey. There is so much to see and do. The last time my nieces went with us they were 4 and 6 and there were plenty of things they got to do and see.

I picked up the 2011 Alaska Frommer's book at t he library and they have some nice links to companies that will do excursions. I think I've found some excursions that younger kids can do. Also, I saw that the ariel tram goes from the port to the top of the mountain in Juneau and that there is a 5mi roundtrip hike to the summit of Mt. Roberts.

My husband (who doesn't post but lurks over my shoulder), wants to know what kind of tris you do. He just got a new tri bike for xmas and is looking to register for some duathlons and possibly a tri this summer.

I have done sprints to Ironman been doing tris since 1983. Have also done duathlons and lots of running. This past summer started adventure racing which combines kayaking, mountain biking and trail running in addition to the fact that you have to find your way to check points using a map and compass.

It is starting to seem real! We booked this cruise so long ago.

Erik just bought us a new camera for the trip. He has been trying it out.

My kids would love to email others on the cruise to get to know each other before the trip.

Matt will be 13 and will be going into 8th grade.
Marina will be 10 and going into 5th grade. ( She is already enjoying chatting with Chickflick's DD)

My husband, Erik, has been working on a cool graphic for our cruise. I will have to have him post it.

It says " Alaska where it is hard to get a tan. "

Hi Christi,

We didn't book too long ago, but my DD is going to be 10 on the cruise and going into 5th grade also.
