"DCL Klondike Kruisers" - August 23, 2011 PART 2

The tequilla one kiced my butt last year!!!!! I had not done tequilla shots since college and I reaized why that day. :lmao::rotfl2::lmao:
Boy did it ever Leisha you were laughing and couldn't stop. You really got twisted:lmao::lmao::lmao:
Want to do it again HA HA

ARE YOU READY?????

Are we going to do that on this year to?? Im in;)

Is Roger planning to do the beer tasteing? If so Im a go to.

I am sure he would. There are some brewery's in Vancouver he would also like to try.

As soon as I know when you are all signing up for tasting, I'm going to sign up for my facial! That's way more relaxing for me! I couldn't find anything about the tasting events on the website. Can you not sign up until you're on the ship?

N

I thought someone said 3:00 in the promanade lounge. DH has been working on a kidney stone this weekend. I told him better now than on the cruise because I would hate for the crew to mistake him for grumpy. :lmao: For some reason he did not have a since of humor this weekend. :confused3

I hope he feels better. I think it's smart to count your blessings and be happy it's now and not on the cruise! That's a good way to see it. I can imagine he might not have been in the mood to hear it at the time. :lmao: Can't imagine why?

Tangled is extremely cute!!!

I keep hearing that and I still haven't seen it. I was hoping to watch it on the cruise. I need to rent it I guess!

Caipirinha is Brazil's national cocktail, made with cachaça sugar cane rum), sugar and lime
We are considering doing that and the mojito tasting. I think we have done everything else.;)

That sounds delicious. I love rum. I love sugar. I love lime. What else could I ask for? :drinking1

I have updated the FE list to include all room numbers. I have made copies of the FE lst and will have them with me on the cruise in case anyone forgets theirs. I can bring them with me at the 3;00 gathering at the Promegrade Lounge and if you need one--just let me know. Also, my room number is 2143/2145.

Thanks,

Vicki

Thanks for finalizing the FE list! We will probably put our gifts together on the road up to Vancouver. We have it all purchased and made, but they aren't put together for each room yet! It's nice to have the list finished!

If you look on past Alaska Navigators it will tell you the days and times for the adult tastings. I only found one mojito tasting on day 7 last sea day at 5pm. I don't think you can sign up for them until onboard. There are also several wine and beer tastings (both day 2 and 7)and one martini tasting on day 2. I know hubby and I want to do stem to stern as well as the mojito one. Facial sounds good too!!!!!!

Thanks for that info. The facials are definitely good - I've done it twice before. Guess I'll just wait til we're on board to book and take my chances.

Dee, we did this one on the 1st Alaska. (Mojito and Caipirinha was the same event) They have a regular mojito and some flavored ones (surprised that I loved the Mango one) and the Caipirinha. My friend Monica is a huge cachaca fan and pretty much nearly everyone in the room passed thier Caipirinha over to her after tasting it! It is an aquired taste (though not to the degree that Scotch is!!!) Needless to say, she was a LOT of fun that evening! :lmao:

The timing on our was late afternoon and I feel they rushed it in order to get people out for early dinner, so if there is an option of one at midday also, take the earlier one.

Also, did I already pop in to tell anyone doing the Skagway White Rail train excursion about where to sit? If not.... as you walk to the trian from the ship you will be approaching the back of the train, so sit on the left to see the scenic stuff first and on the way back down you switch over to the other side (so your car-mates will have the opportunity for photos) and you can sleep on the way back! An advantage to being on the back of the train is you get a little 'warning' time before your car comes up to a good photo shot and you can prepare yourself. Also, if animals are sited by the first cars you know where to look and snap when your car gets to it. ALSO, there is a bathroom (co-ed) in each car, and it was very clean and larger than an airplane one!

.

As usual you are a wealth of information. Thank you so much!

Thought of some more stuff:

If you are in the very back car (the FIRST car you come to when walking to the train), it will become the 1st car for the retun trip, as the engine disconnects and comes around to the other end. The seat backs flip over so nobody is riding backwards! BUT if you are sensative to smells, you do get a smell from the engine, so you may want to choose the second car in line.

They also provide free bottled water. :thumbsup2

I think last year was the year we went to 4 tastings in a row at the at sea day. We were pretty silly by the end of that fiasco!:rolleyes1:lmao::rotfl2:

we have a certain craving for frozen bananas...are they available on board?

please oh please!

:cool1:

Oh you are so welcome in finalizing the FE list. :goodvibes I finally got all of my FE organized and packed. It is so nice to have that done. I am working on packing and am about 2/3rds the way done. We leave next Monday for the trip, since we are traveling by camper to Vancouver. Along the way, we are stopping at Mount Rushmore and Glacier National Park.:goodvibes

It is hard to believe that the cruise is so close now! :yay::cheer2::banana:

Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Working on finishing up our fish extender gifts.....

Specifically I need the names of members of the following groups.

Bigbootie
1DisneyQueen
Smeecanada
Videogamermom

Thanks.

I think I am officially done shopping for this trip. Sadly, I have some returns to make.

I think my whole family is getting excited. I have been planning this for 2 years and now that we are 2 weeks away they have questions, suggestion and act like we just came up with the idea.:lmao:

I guess there can be only one obsessive, compulsive planner in the family.:thumbsup2

Now to finish up some packing and sewing. Next weekend I want to stay in my night gown and veg.;)

All three ports were over 60 degrees today!!! Maybe there is hope for us florida whimps!!!
