Not soon enough!!!! We do a lot of eating & drinking!!!

Wow, I had no idea we would be eating alone;) So many of you are late dining. Did I miss the memo:confused3 OR is late dining for the cool people:thumbsup2

I do not care what time zone we are in. If DH does not get fed by 6 he has this personality change that would scare Captain Hook:rotfl2:

Back to trip planning.

Has there been anymore thought to a "Meet" and at what time?

Would anyone be interested in a group lunch?

Just trying to suggest things we have done on past DCL cruises.

We have early dining too, so you won't be alone :rotfl2:
We chose the early dining because DH loves going up and getting snacks later at night. I can't have all that food sitting in my stomach so late!

Glad to see there are lots of children going.. being a Alaska cruise I was worried the rollcall was going to look a bit more like a Holland A rollcall.. Guess its time to start planning.

Welcome. Do you want your info on page 1?

We're celebrating out 9th Anniversary this August. We were on an alaskan cruise for our honeymoon too.

Was finally able to do some catching up this morning - it certainly has been a while. Now that there are no more vacations between now and August, I hope to get back on the boards a little more. Have requested to join the FB group, too. I'm a bit more active on FB, so hopefully that will remind me to get over here once in a while!

Just to recap, it is me (maine_jennifer - Jennifer 35), my dad (ME Steamboat Willie - Everett 67) and my mom (Jeanette - 70). We're in cabin # 7604 with early dining. I'm one of those DVC and D23 people, have been on two 4-night cruises on the Wonder, a 7-night Western Caribbean on the Magic, a 15-night Panama Canal on the Magic, and in February, a 4-night on the Dream. Dad is also a DVC member and he and mom have been on a 4-night on the Wonder, a 15-night Panama Canal on the Magic, and were also on the 4-night on the Dream in February. They will be celebrating their 48th anniversary on 8/24.

Our pre-cruise plans are to fly to DL on 8/14 and stay through the D23 Expo. Then, we're flying to Vancouver early on the 22nd and staying at the Pan Pacific. Post-cruise, we're thinking of renting a car to drive to Seattle because our flight doesn't leave until almost 10pm. This way we can take our time, hit a tourist spot or two, stop at a Walgreens to print out pictures and of course a stop at a Cheesecake Factory for dinner before our flight.

Right now, we're working on shore excursions. There certainly were a lot to choose from but I think we've basically narrowed it down to the Best of Skagway for all of us; mom & I whale watching in Juneau while dad does a float plane thingy; and maybe a duck boat tour in Ketchikan or just some wandering around on our own.

I guess our biggest chore will be packing. A week in warm/sunny California and then up to Alaska where we need to layer up. Should be interesting. I think I see an extra luggage fee in my future.

Cheers!

Jennifer

We're celebrating our 40th birthdays in July, and planned this cruise to celebrate. We would have gone in July, but it was a lot more expensive than waiting until this cruise.

But at the rate we're going, we may not make it. In the past month, our air conditioner has broken, our heater has broken, our house got flooded when a pipe broke, we've had to bring in an electrician to fix a ceiling fan, the struts on my wife's car gave out, and the brake light on my car just fell out.

We're pricing ac and heating systems right now, and when you've got upstairs and downstairs units, you're looking at 15k to replace them. This is what happens when your house gets 14 years old, I guess.

I just hope the roof holds out....

I hope you make it you'll need a vacation after dealing with all that! I'm being driven insane my our boiler at the moment, but nothing like you! Our house is only 8 years old. Guess i better spend the next 6 years saving! Good luck with everything.

List of cruisers is updated (fingers crossed). If your info is wrong, please let me know and I'll correct it.

Hello,
I've been working again, and missed the "great move", I love having less pages to go through, and all the updates are very helpful.
BTW, I'm Robyn and my DH is Rick and Laurel is my DD (10), & my Mom, Vicki and Dad, Bob will be in the cabin next door. My Dad is turning 70 just after the cruise so we are celebrating their 45 anniversary and his 70th!
Can't wait till August!:cheer2:
