DCL insurance with cancellation

I expect you need to contact the insurance provider directly because DCL is simply a “middleman” selling you the policy which is administered through (Allianz?). Once the policy is sold, DCL likely has no ability to modify the policy.

Thanks!

Not sure if this answers your question~I purchased DCL insurance for my Italy/Greece cruise and it, of course, was canceled. I opted for a refund instead of the FCC, but my insurance purchase was refunded. Just give them (DCL) a call. They will take care of it. Either they will move your insurance over or it will be canceled, refunded and you can repurchase for your next cruise. Good luck!

Thanks, @ladyofthetramp, you answered my question! I'm guessing that outside providers might not do this, or that it will be a hassle, so I'm planning to go with the DCL insurance.

As noted the DCL insurance is not through DCL. DCL just acts as a middle man to purchase insurance from an actual insurance company. You can often find better coverage, with a lower cost, by purchasing insurance separately.

Thanks for the reply. My insurance was purchase through DCL. I was wondering if Disney moved it for you.
In my case, I had insurance through DCL for our July cruise that Disney cancelled. The money I paid for the July cruise insurance did move to the new cruise we booked with our FCC. It didn't automatically insure the new cruise- I had to ask for insurance on the new cruise. If I hadn't asked, it just would have been extra money added to the new cruise to help cover the cost of sailing or an onboard credit.
