I still can't do the math with regard to the Disney Cruise Line using points.. Can anyone help me out with it..??

We are a family of 4.. Me- DH (40) Wife (39) but don't let her know I told ya, and our two boys DS (13) & DS (8).

How much would a 7 day eastern Caribean (sp) cruise cost us in June 2010?? We would be seeking the "cost efficient" rooms.

I would like to know how much would it cost using three scenerios..
a. - points only (I know this will be way too much)
b. - half points and half cash
c. - all cash..

Please help me if you can!!!

There are no 7 night eastern caribbean cruises during the summer of 2010. The Magic is going to Europe from April until September.

I have cruised Disney several times...
We are DVC.
We refuse to use points. We will either rent them and use that cash to pay for the cruise, or bank them, and use them later. The points are wasting "CASH" essentially.

Points are valued at @ $10 per point currently. Do the math on that. You would be wasting the points in my eyes, but everyone does everything different.

BTW... go to DisneyCruise.com. You can get a price from that site. Word to the wise... After you get the price check around with a few discounted travel sites, and see what you can find. You may find a special somewhere.

You will not find a DCL cruise cheaper on any other website. The price on the DCL website will be the same no matter where you look. DCL does not allow travel agents to discount their cruises. Make sure you are comparing apples to apples. On the DCL website, they often include transfers and travel insurance in the quote and other sites do not. The only difference in price that a travel agent can offer is an additional OBC (onboard credit) that can be used to settle your account on the ship.

Not exactly true, Rob S.

If a travel agent blocks group space for a given date, they can get the price at the time the space is booked. usually, the price goes up as the date approaches, as DCL has 12 pricing tiers. If you have an agent that has the particular space booked, they can indeed offer a lower price than the "currently available" DCL price.

This is a good method for very popular dates such as holidays and school vacations.

I was referring to the OBC. The prices for Disney are almost identical everywhere. You are correct.
