DCL for couples w/o kids

my cousin and i went together after we graduated college and people ALWAYS made a big deal about it on the ship. "where are your kids?" "where are your parents?" plus a lot of single dads hit on her (she's really pretty) and some unknown person kept sending her drinks when we were at the pool....totally creepy! we had fun but i wouldn't go again. i think that it might had been more enjoyable if i had a significant other with me or if i had more $$ to spend at the spa & bingo.
castaway cay though....i would go there ANYTIME. what a place!!!

We're heading on number 9 in May. We've taken two of our "kids" (ages 18 and 21) on 3 of them.

To be honest, this is something that I never paid attention to. We always have a great time just being big kids. :boat:

We are leaving Sunday on a "no kids!" cruise! We are also traveling with three other couples, all who have kids but are not bringing them. There is so much to do for the adult who is a kid at heart!

:earboy2:

I'm glad to read all of these replies. DH and I are going 2/27 on the 4 day WONDER by ourselves and he's been a little concerned about it. I'm going to read all of your comments to him!

Me? I've been excited since DAY ONE!!! :cloud9:

My wife and I and my Brother and sister-in-law have 10 cruises between us and have never taken a "kid" on a cruise. This may be due to our ages, mid 50's to 6o's. We have also booked the 14-day West bound cruise and my wife and I have two other cruises booked. We have never encountered any "rude" people or actions because we did not have kids with us.

More DINKs checking in! (I think we could start a Dis Dink Club with all the people listed here)
We have cruised DCL twice and never felt out of place. Like Herc10 said, DCL does such a great job of "adults only" areas that I never felt like I was on a Kids Cruise. Our last carnival cruise was like "kids gone wild"!

We also went without kids. And loved it! This year we are taking 11 family members including our 25 yr old son. No kids though. I think most of us will take advantage of the spa and adult pool and of course the bars!

Just DH and myself and Sept 06 will be our 3rd cruise. We love it. It's a wonderful vacation, and trust me there is so much going on that no one will notice that you don't have children. And honestly we rarely saw children, except at the kid and family pool. It's really a fantastice vacation.

We do not have kids yet and love DCL. After 3 DCL cruises we love it still. We just got back from the Eastern last week. I felt bad not booking out next one while on board.

DCL can be for adults as well as kids. Yes, we did get those strange looks from some wondering why we were there w/o kids. Maybe it is the fact that we are kids at heart.

Since we did not re-book we trying to find time for another cruise very soon. We did join DVC....

I have 4 kids, but just did my first cruise with just hubby. I am STILL smiling about it 2 weeks later. We had not just a good time, a PERFECT time. We are going again next February, this time for a week without the kids. We are taking our kids a few months prior to that. Its so nice to get away and recharge and Disney makes the adult areas such a haven for adults. I mentioned to hubby maybe we should a RCL cruise and he looked at me like I had two heads! Its only Disney for us, kids or no kids!

DH and I have cruised twice without kids. We are planning a third cruise right now (trying to figure out when we want to go). We have a great time and don't feel out of place at all. We have a friend who is trying to convince us to try another cruise line, but we just are not interested. We love DCL.

My DH, myself, & our DS10, DD8 & DS4 went on our first cruise ever October 2004, We had a wonderful, but exhausting time. (we spent time @ WDW before our cruise) My DH & I want to go again, but by ourselves. We missed a few shows or more like I did, because I had to stay in our cabin w/ our DS4.
(he had a little seperation anxiety & unfortunately wan't a big fan w/ the kids club) So, My DH& I are thinking of going October 2005 & my sister & brother in law are thinking of going too. I am just a little concerned that we will feel out of place & so much want my sister & her husband to have a good experience like we did. Especially since we are paying more money than we would on other cruises. We looked @ RCL, but our experience on the Disney Magic & service was awesome I'm afraid to try another cruise line.

My DH and I are heading out on February 17 on our first Disney cruise and we are leaving our kids home with Grandma! We thought we would test it out first to see if we would like to take the kids next time, or not! We are huge Disney fans (passholders) and visit Disney World every February around the Daytona 500 without our kids (ages 8, 15, and 18). I can not imagine not having a great time relaxing on the happiest cruise ship in the world just the two of us! :cool1:

Since our first cruise was last May when our "baby" was a 24 year old CM on vacation, we can't speak to cruising with little kids. But DH and I and my mom and aunt (80 somethings) had a fantastic time getting to know DD's world. I can really understand why she LOVES her job.

We're planning on going again later this year with "just us". The only requirement for having fun on DCL is to be a kid at heart and have a joyful spirit. What's not to like about the Mouse?

My husband and I are sans children (not dual income, due to me being in grad school *le sigh*) and have been on one Disney Cruise and are going on another DC this March (Squeeeeee!). Neither of us are huge Disney fans, but we knew their reputation for service. We never felt uncomfortable being without kids and had a wonderful time.
The big benefit for us is that our best friends, another couple our age, have two children. A Disney Cruise means that we can go on a vacation with them and have a 'built in' babysitter so that we can all have time to do things wiithout the kids.

Three of our 4 DCL cruises have been with out kids. We never felt funny or self conscious at all.
We had fun with the characters, kidded with the crew and had a blast.
I can't wait for our next one :cool1:

DW and I don't have any kids, however my DW does watch children for her business. We have been on the Wonder 2 times and the Magic once. We love Disney!!!!They treat so great!!!! Our TA looks at us funny each time we book. She keeps trying to persuade us to go a different cruise line. Don't think twice about it. Just watch the children getting excited, especially around the character greetings.

DH and I are going on our second cruise with DD (soon to be 16) and we felt like we were alone most of the time! :cool1:
When we asked DD what she wanted for her sweet 16 she said a disney cruise I was like good choice!!!!!!!!!! :Pinkbounc
