DCL cruisers, could this actually work???

Disney's new ships.....my thoughts for names???
...Disney Land berthed in California
...Disney World berthed in Florida

Simultaneous departure for around the World cruises. Select ports hit by each ship with a meeting of both ships at some point. HUGE party atmosphere in port then simultaneous departure with super fireworks display battle at sea before continuation with Land heading to FL and the World to CA with ships stopping at the same ports the sister ship stopped. Another simultaneous departure with passing occurring in Gutan Lake and the ports hit would be the normal Panama Canal transit ports.

Could DCL pull this off and would you sail???

Certainly it's do-able. But, I'm afraid that the typical DCL cruiser (families) wouldn't be able to swing this. Either cost-wise, or time off of school/work - wise.

I'd love to do it.

That would be awesome!

Most round the world cruises people get off and on at various segments. My in-laws are doing part of one next year. So people could do that - and It would also open the market up to other countries more. Eg, if they stop in Australia and/or New Zealand you'll get people from here doing parts up to Asia etc.

You could do it if it wasn't around the world, but through the Panama Canal.

Fun idea...I would love to join a leg of the trip if that was ever an option.

They would not name the ships after the parks though in case of any kind of negative publicity - like a noro outbreak.

I can see the headline now "Noro Outbreak on Disney World - Source claims people are vomiting everywhere!" "Disney World without power for 2 hours - guests left in the dark without dinner!"

Too many people would confuse the ship with the parks. Not everyone who goes to DL or WDW know that Disney also has a cruise line; and people who aren't really "into" Disney but would consider that once in a lifetime trip to WDW for their kids will suddenly be concerned about booking.
