Hi,

I am in the very beginning planning stages for my 15th anniversary trip. I would love to do the Land/Sea package but I KNOW I will not be able to leave the children any longer than 5 days. I am thinking about just flying in a day before the 4 day cruise and spending it in Magic Kingdom. Is it possible to catch a DCL bus from a resort without being part of the Land/Sea package???

Thanks!

Hi

In reply to your question, it will all depend on what resort you are staying in, but yes you can order disney transfers from certain on site hotels without having the land/sea package. We are actually staying at the All Star Sports but are being collected the morning of our cruise at The Animal Kingdom Lodge as the Disney Transfers do not pick up at the All Stars.
Hope this helps.

You can arrange to be picked up from any resort that DCL picks up from. Dave's site www.dcltribute.com and Barb's site probably have specifics on which one.

We stayed off-site the night before, and caught the bus from the Port Orleans in the morning. Very seamless, we just had find a taxi from our off-site hotel to the Port Orleans. Some resorts pick up earlier than others too, just as an FYI.

We did WDW AFTER our cruise. It was a shock to have to pay for meals but it made the adjustment from the Magic back to real life a little easier.

DCL transfers will drop you off at any of the WDW resorts but only PICK UP from the ones that are part of the land sea packages. You can check out the choices for land portion of the land/sea trips to see which ones.

However many people (myself included) feel that DCL transfers will get you to the ship later than you may want.

We took DLC transfers and found that most of the events that required reservations (Palo, Spa etc) were fully booked when we got on board. It can depend on the cruise you are on and how fast reservations fill up.

Even though my expectation would be that DCL transfers would be the nicest, we were not impressed. The DCL bus was in disrepair, broken seats, half the TV monitors not working etc. Overall in our experience the DCL transfers were the low point of the trip.
