We were on the Western in April and rebooked for next May.
When I got home I checked prices with Carnival for the ship that goes out of Port Canaveral and visits the same ports as DCL.
We had a cat. 11 and loved it, on deck 5.
The cost of the Carnival cruise was MORE when you added on the port charges -- Disney includes them in the price.
Also the convenience of the airlines being at the port when you disembark was wonderful and I was told that Disney is the only cruise line to offer that. We never touched our luggage from the hotel to the port and then back to the airport and we finally saw them in Cleveland! That was great -- with a 3 year old you don't need to be lugging around a bunch of luggage
So if you are debating about it. Choose Disney.
Not affiliated just a happy cruiser and going back.
My husband was on Carnival and loved it but after Disney said "no comparison".
