DCL Cat. 11 or Junior Suite SoS RCCL?

I love Disney and we took our first cruise in 1/03 in two connecting cat. 10's SPR. Now my kids (16, 14, 12, and 9) want to cruise again. I have booked (thru DU) two Cat. 11's for next spring break (3/05), but I noticed that RCCL Sovereign of the Seas has a 4 night (also) and not day at sea (a plus because some of us get seasick) and it is a lot less expensive even if I get two junior suites right next to each other.

I see that SoS is an older ship, so I'm afraid of being disappointed, and I was wondering if you all had any thoughts and good advice for me.

DU for 2 11's is now about $5200 and 2 junior suites (windows, but less bath) will be $4600 but I think that's without insurance, which I will want to get.

Honestly, the entire amount is more than I would like and I have seen that I can get an F1 category double and quad rooms next to each other on RCCL would be half of both those amounts--about $2600 but w/o insurance.

Also, I'm allergic to smoke and DH refuses to gamble in any way.

Help! I need advice! Or, should we just use our DVC and go to WDW during Spring Break?

I've sailed both the SoS and DCL. The Sovereign is a nice cruise, but for the difference your talking about, you might be disappointed. RCL is a good cruise line and SoS a good ship, but I think DCL does a better job.

My DD who was 12 on our last SoS cruise told me she never wanted to cruise that again. When can we go back to Disney. We're back on disney in may.

If cost is the issue, you will have a good time. BUT if you can afford the difference, I think you will enjoy DCL better.

I have been reading some reviews online and I was getting the impression that SoS is an older ship and that we might be disappointed in the quality compared to Disney. Cost is an issue and I liked that the lesser priced cabins on RCCL had portholes, but I thought they might be a tight squeeze for my kids to be in one, so that's why I priced two junior suites which comes out still less than two cat. 11's on Disney, but not by too much.
