Any predictions for DCL announcements at D23?

My guesses:
1) Name and delivery date announced for the next Triton class ship
2) Dry dock enhancements for existing fleet
3) Kids get to hug characters again (ok I know - wishful thinking)

Any other predictions?

The big things should be the name and launch year/season of ship #6 and more details about Lighthouse Point.

Also Australia if they haven't announced it by then.

I'm not expecting much about changes to the existing ships because it would get overshadowed by other stuff, but it wouldn't be too surprising if they include something just to fill time.

Based on some new satellite images (08/2022) on Google Earth... I guess the are on track for "Construction could begin in early 2022 with completion in the first half of 2024." If construction was mostly clearing areas and getting in service roads cut in. Don't really see any building construction yet, but maybe the start of the Marina? There is a laydown yard near where the main Service Facilities will be.

If this was being done in Orlando, I'd say there is a chance that it will be ready in the first half of 2024.... but built in the Bahama's, I see too much here to do in just 18 months. Unless these buildings are some form of prefab construction that will be shipped in.... 2025 looks more likly.

Still wondering if they'll stick with the oversized Castaway Cay natural beach vibe or if some "FUN DAY" features will slip into their plans. They put "rides" on their ships....

I do love Castaway Cay, and I know not everyone wants to do water slides... but this is a Family cruise line, and this is a huge piece of property. A small water park wouldn't affect those that want a quite beach day.

Based on the first reveal of the new island, I thought the intent was to keep it as "natural" as possible. I'd be surprised to hear indication of slides and rides. But I do like what they've done at Cococay ( if everything didn't cost money)

I love the two slides at Castaway. Something similar could feature in the new island as well. I'd be surprised if they didn't have any slides for the new island.

Castaway Cay has water slides. They're well themed to the island, so they don't stand out in a garish way. Lighthouse Point will hopefully continue that trend. I think it's very likely there will be water slides there like there are at Castaway Cay, possibly even a few more of them, but tastefully integrated, in line with their promise not to destroy the natural beauty of the island.

The charge for the water park to stand in long lines is ridiculous…. Another reason RCCL was a one and done for me ….

I think we get the name of the next ship. Who will be on the aft. Maybe even who is the Capt. Info about lighthouse point. Some info about Port Everglade.

Word. Leave the four older ships alone. They don’t need to be “Wish-ified” ….
To be fair, They wouldn't be able to do a lot of the Wish changes because it feels like so many of those changes were structural to the ship.

My biggest worry would be removing more storage with a room refurbishment. Every time on the Dream/Fantasy I miss the steamer trunk drawers 😭

They can paint over the wood to make it more “modern”, they’ve done it at some of the resorts … and cram IP in every corner possible ….

Is there a recording of the D23 meeting? I’d like to listen to the announcements my self.
Don’t want to here the next ship will be all Blue! When they actually said the next ship will be all new.

We are not sure yet this year. In the past, no. You had to rely upon attendees reporting or official Disney announcements. They said some panels will be live streamed this year but have only confirmed the Legends panel.

I was told (by the CD) a few days ago while on the Wish there would be an announcement at D23 about the Uncharted Adventure game that is not ready as of yet.

Probably name of the next ship and maybe what character will represent it. A bunch of talk about the new Disney Wish ship as an "advertisement". Possibly more details about Lighthouse Point. And of course, hoping for some announcement regarding characters (but not counting on it)
I was wondering about Lighthouse Point. Guessing COVID put that behind schedule too.
