We are goind on our first DCL cruise in 2 days. When we are at WDW I use a GAC to deal with my vision issues at the shows. They have always been very accomodating wih letting me sit near the front. Front row is usually not necessary but it does depend on the theater. I hadn't really thought about the shows and movie theater on the ship until today. Is there any assitance available? Should I just speak with a CM at the show/theater? Would ot be better to go to guest services after we board?

I would have suggested that you contact the Special Needs department at DCL -- but if you are cruising in 2 days there may not be much they can do at this point. I don't know if you require any accommodations in your stateroom - if so I'd still call. If all you want is to sit near the front for shows, I'd arrive early and speak with the CM each evening. Make sure you are there early and hopefully they'll allow you an extra minute or so to enter before the throngs - those front rows are popular.

Enjoy your cruise!

Thank you lanejudy! No I don't need any special accomodations with my stateroom. My eyes adjust extremely slowly (we're talking 10 minutes or more to adjust from light to dark and vise cersa) and I also have low vision issues in dark areas. DH and I usually manage quite well for the most part. Don't know what I'd do without him. I'll take your advise on trying to get there early!

We have not cruised yet, but would be interested to know. My youngest has low vision. She would need to sit closer to see the shows well.
