Ooh! What's a "soft opening"? We are going to be there May 5-9.
A "preview" of a ride or attraction running for a short testing period before its official opening. Basically when an attraction is in "soft opening" mode there is no guarantee that it will be open to the public, but might be to test some little details out. May 5th-9th may be a little too early for soft openings, but keep checking on these boards. You never know.
Side story: In Late June of 05 I was at DL for a day with my mom. This was during the 50th celebration and so Space was just about to open up in July. We checked all day to see if it would open for soft openings; we even went around back and saw the cars running empty in the on-ride photos. But when we went to City Hall to ask about soft openings, they said that it would probably be open the next day.
I was a bit dissapointed. But then I got to ride it on our February trip.
