Maybe it was me??? But we waited in the LOOONNGGEST Line we had in 5 days in MAY '06 to ride this???ride??? I had heard it was along the lines of the POOH ride Which is along the WILD TOADS ride. I love Wild Toad!! POOH was entertaining a little too Light for a glowing dark ride but you don't want to scare the kiddies.

But what the devil is Monsters Inc?? It was boring!! They gave away the WHOLE show with the see thru glass windows into the ride, 1/2 thru what pre-show there was over sized vending machines and the tv news stating there was a kid lost. Which confused many of the kids around us,they somehow thought a real kid was missing. Many didn't even want to get in the Taxi Cab[was there a taxi in Monsters Inc??] I think the ride is even shorter than Peter Pan. There are 2 or 3 scenes with Mike and Scully and the girl in dead end hallways, then it's over.

I was watching the doors over head wondering why we weren't up there riding a door instead on the ground in [a break your knee caps] taxi cab??
I loved Monsters Inc.!! I love MIKE and SCULLY!! and the girl kid whose name escapes me. But if Iwent on this ride without seeing the movie 1st , I would have thought this must be the most boring movie ever.

How could Disney go so wrong?? I could have seen Aladin which I missed seeing, because of this ride?? Talk about phoning it in............

Boo! (girls name :goodvibes ) It sounds a bit disapointing. Is this a current ride? I really hadn't heard about it.

We went on it in May for the first time. I was impressed with the ride and theming, although not with the facade (a bit lame, painted wood to look like doors). In some scenes there were smells (locker room, restaurant, and another I can't remember). My DH loved it and had never seen the movie. He really understood the movie whe we watched it from the ride. We really liked it and it adds some good to DCA, which was lacking. I didn't really think about riding in a taxi, it was a ride vehicle...I mean riding in a caterpiller for Alice in Wonderland!? Same idea I guess. And I enjoyed the vending machine, tvs, and other theming of the queue area, people I was in line with really enjoyed it because they had seen the movie and understood it. My DH enjoyed the queue area because I explained the stuff to him and he thought the vending machine was funny.

Oh well, guess every ride is not for everyone. Hope you enjoyed the rest of DLR/DCA. :)

We went to DL at the end of April. We waited for an hour to ride this ride...a very boring hour. The queue is mostly outdoors and uncovered with nothing to look at. This is true for most rides at DCA which is too bad considering Disney has a good way to make queues more interesting. I like the queue for SM, PotC, etc.
I was disappointed I waited all that time for a 2 minute ride. The ride was enjoyable. I like the effects done with Randall. The other smell you smell is lemon...the Yeti's snowcones. It's worth seeing but not if you have to stand for an hour. :sad2:

This ride used to be All-Star Limos, which believe me was a hundred times worse! The taxicabs are re-painted limos, look closely!

Taxis don't have much to do with Monsters Inc, but they had to work with the ride vehicle they already had. And if you think about it, the idea is that you take a taxi ride through Monstropolis.

I can't imagine why children in line thought a real child was missing - the footage in the preshow is taken directly from the movie, and it is clearly a cartoon monster saying a child is loose in Monstropolis.

My 2.5yo loved the ride, and maybe that says a lot about the enjoyability of it - that it mainly appeals to preschoolers.

DD (5) and I love this ride but as were are now CA residents and go weekly to DCA & DL we would never wait an hour for this ride. It all comes from the movie and follows the sequence of events pretty well. I agree with a previous poster that it is a great addition to DCA which had been lacking.

If anyone has seen the Mike's new car short on the Dvd, they should have made em up to look like that.

There's not a dark ride on the planet that's worth an hour wait. But Monster's Inc. is one of the best ones.

I totally Loved the rest of DCA!! I love love Soarin and TOT!!! Loved Crush!! Loved the Farris wheel!!! Love Bugs life [even tho it down for upgrades]!!

We rode this twice in Feb. and my kids loved it. They never want to wait in lines, and this they did with no complaining! I think the kids loved the characters, they are huge Boo fans. My DDs are 4 and 7. It was pretty cut. Normally I wouldn't wait, but we don't get out to DL often, we usually hit WDW (cheaper flights).
