Are there any good restaurants in DCA? Do I need PS's for any of them? The only one I know of is Ariel's Grotto, but other than that, what's there?

I really like wine country trattoria. I love the lasagna there and the prices are very reasonable. They are closed right now for refurb and I can't remember when they'll be done so i'm not sure if they'll be open for your trip or not. We've always gotten PS for it but I don't know if it's absolutely necessary. It makes the wait shorter though.

Another vote for WCT! The lasagna there is really good and we've always had wonderful service! We usually have a glass of wine out on the patio before we sit down to eat!

We really enjoyed the food at Ariels' Grotto, but, it's not an every trip thing for us due to the expense. (It's one of those "been there, don't need more princess pics" things for us) I wish they would offer the same food for a non princess interaction at a lower price. Don't get me wrong, I love the princesses as much as anyone, but, you are paying for face time.

Tastes Pilots (counter service) has some good food, but the lines can get long.

Usually on or DCA day, we head over to Whitewater snacks (you can enter through the entrance through DCA into the Grand Californian) and walk down a little walkway and turn left. Food is made to order, very good, and not expensive.

Wine country has some great food too, but, like lulu said, not sure it will be open then.

Can you tell me what you had at Ariel's? We are going there at the end of April and I was just curious what you got and liked???

Wine Country Trattoria is great! Let me put in a plug for their meatball sandwiches, too! Those are quite tasty (not quite enough cheese, however). They also serve a blood orange sorbet which is very popular. Any time I have gone, there seemed to be ample seating outside, but we may have been lucky.

Even though it's not in DCA, Storyteller's Cafe in the Grand Californian is very nice. They have buffet and menu selections. There is an entrance into the GC from DCA, between Soarin' and Grizzly River Run, so it's easy to get there and back from the park.

I would love this! I keep hearing how good the food is and would love to try it but can't justify the extra cost to see princesses that we don't really need to see.

I bet you could ask for extra cheese on the meatball sandwich. I always have to ask for extra cheese when i get a burrito at Chipotle because they give you the tiniest little amount. I'm sure Disney would be willing to add a little extra if you requested it.

Agreed! We have never had PS and have never had to wait long. Of course, we have no preference whether we eat inside or out so that might make a difference for wait times if you do. The prices are reasonable and the food is excellent.

We ate at WCT for my bday last year. We were not impressed, in fact so unimpressed we decided not to go back.
In DCA we LOVE Taste Pilot's, it's our FAVE!!!! I love the Wild Bleu Yonder burger, it comes with bleu cheese and steak sauce, I ask for no steak sauce and add loads of BBQ sauce instead. :) We also like the Luckey Fortune and believe it or not we like Award Weiners. Whitewater Snacks in GCH is really good too, as is Storytellers.

As for what to eat at AG, we've had the Tri Tip, the chicken and the ciopinno and every one has been delish!!!! Oh ya, I had the mushroom pasta too, YUM!!!!! Basically everything we've had at AG we've loved!! The newer menu is so much better then the old one was. :)
