What, besides the Bug's Life area and Soarin', would you do with a five year old in DCA?

She likes BTMRR in DL but has never done SM (either one). Those would be too rough for her. Soarin seems to be tame, so I want to try that.

I've only been on Soarin and Screamin.

What else is good at that park for younger ones?

I also might as well ask for myself, what are the must do DCA rides/attractions for myself?

We'll be there Sunday, June 3.

Thanks!

The two things DS (5) did not like were Tower of Terror and Bug's Life. Everything else was a go especially Screamin and GRR.

How tall is your 5 year old? that will determine what she can go on.
If she's tall enough for BTMRR, then she can do GRR, Soarin, Mulholland Madness (quite jerky, though), Jumpin Jellyfish and the Zephyr. She may be too short for Screamin, Maliboomer and Orange Stinger.

She will probably love the Muppets 3-D show. The Bug's Life 3-D show is very scary for all my kids. but they enjoy the theming and rides in Bug's Land. Don't miss the Animation Studio, Monsters Inc. ride, Aladdin Musical, Playhouse Disney show all in the Hollywood Backlot. All my kids love playing in the Redwood Creek Play Area back behind GRR. It's a great place to get out some energy.

Have fun!

My DD is 45 inches tall.

We tried the Aladdin show last year, and it was too scary for her.
She gets overwhelmed at loud noises, so I'm wondering if the Muppets show would be ok for her.

Any more details about that show?

She did enjoy Playhouse Disney.

She does not know the story of Monster's Inc. I've tried to show it to her, but she says she does not want to see it. I think the concept of Monsters scaring children is just too scary for her! So should I eliminate that ride?

Thanks for the help.

In the Monster's Inc. Ride I do not recall any monsters scaring children. Am I wrong?? My 5 year old went on it multiple times a few weeks ago and he was fine. ( He is also afraid of Randall -- the bad monster -- but the ride was fine for him -- if that helps.)

The animation building is also great.

FWIW, the story behind Monsters Inc is that the monsters are terrified of the *children*...once my kiddo got that, he could watch the movie much easier. Has that helped your DD?

I wouldn't reccomend TOT unless your kid wouldn't be scared. Other then that, there are a few around Paradise Pier..

My kids love Jumpin Jellyfish!

Oh and my son loves the Golden Zephyr. he could go around that thing all day if I wouldn't be in danger of throwing up! :rotfl:

Turtle Talk with Crush (in the Animation Building) is a must-see for kids that age.

My daughter loved Jumpin Jellyfish at age 4...
If your child liked the Winnie the Pooh ride at DL..she probably would like the Monsters ride..

Just got back & my 5 year old DD enjoyed the Aladdin show, Grizzly River Run (she went on it 2x!), Heimlich's Chew Chew Train (she loved how you could smell the watermelon), 3D Muppet Vision, Jumping Jellyfish, Mulholland Madness, Soaring, Sun Wheel (non-moving cart), Monsters Inc & Tuck & Roll's Drive 'Em Buggies. She also really enjoyed the Electric Parade. We missed a few of the rides & attractions that I am sure that she would have enjoyed as well.

The It's Tough To Be A Bug show scared her a bit & she refused to go on the Tower Of Terror which was a good thing because I went on it with my 8 year old DS & he would not go on it again with his Dad (DH ended up missing it). Once was quite enough for him. IMO, it was quite terrifying! :scared1::scared1: lol
