We are booked for Discovery Cove for July 2004.

I know it normally rains almost every afternoon at that time of the year. Rain is ok since we will be wet anyway.
What happens if it storms all day? Has this ever happen to anyone on their day for DC?

Someone a while back posted that you would get a voucher good for another day. You should email DC at the address listed on their website and ask about it. They answered several questions for me within about 2 hrs each time. When we went this past July we made sure to get an early dolphin swim time because there are daily afternoon storms that roll through about 3:30 or 4. We were changing to leave around that time to beat the 5pm closing rush and a huge storm hit. They wouldn't even let people out of the changing room or away from the locker area until the "all clear" was given. Our family was divided between 3 places for about 1/2 hr. Definitely email them....they're great about reponding.

Thank You for the info. I'll send them an e-mail right now and post any response that i get. :)

When we visited in August we made sure got an early dolphin time just in case. (We arrived at about 7:30 and the reception was open, the park opened at 8am). In the afternoon around lunch time, we could see a storm approaching which luckily missed us. However they did shut off the lazy river for about half an hour. When we asked someone who worked there they told us that if lightening strikes within 10 miles of the cove they have to shut the river (not sure why just the river!) and if it strikes within 5 miles they have to shut completely. We didn't have problem with this though as we had lunch and then wondered around the aviary for a while to let our lunch settle. By that time the cove was running as normal again.
Enjoy your trip.

When we went in May 2001 it rained all day but never any lighting or thunder so we went on as a normal day.

When we first got there part of the lazy river was shut but they said they were waiting for more people to make it over that way.

Thank you everyone for the responses. I emailed them and never did get anything back, I will try again and see what happens.
