Has anyone visited at Christmas time? How is it? Is it too cold to swim? We are thinking of a Christmas trip in 2006 and really want to snorkel and swim with dolphins... How old do children need to be? Is it worth it to go in December?

I am swimming with dolphins on christmas day this year so i can let you know if too cold when we get back! I think should be ok as they supply wetsuits. Children have to be at least 6 to do the swim

I have been going to WDW the week before Xmas since '96. The weather is unpredictable. It may be very warm (low to mid 80s) or very cold (there are times when frost warnings are out). Normally when there has been cold weather it is followed a few days later by very nice weather. I think the pools and such are heated, so being in the water may be okay. It's when you get out that is unpredictable. I did the dolphin swim in May a few years back. While I enjoyed this, I enjoyed the lazy river even more. Have fun.

It was still cold, and a little cloudy. We got there right at opening and made sure we (me, DH, DD-11) all got full-length wet suits. That was all we really needed because the pools were heated. We never noticed the chilly air. People who arrived an hour or so after us seemed to be limited to half suits or vests - they might have been colder.
