I just saw this on another board and thought I would share it...

http://www.orlandoparksnews.com/2013/01/universal-studios-update-keep-working_9190.html

Let's see...IoA has Marvel and now the Studios has DC Comics merchandise?

I wonder if something is going on? Maybe Universal is trying to get people used to the DC characters so Marvel Island can be rethemed? Or maybe it's a bonus to have both major comic companies at the Universal Orlando resort?

Not quite sure what to make of this...if anything.

Thoughts?

No idea, I thought Six Flags had the rights to all of the popular DC characters.

Is that the Terminator store? there's a lot of 3rd party merchandise in that store all the time, I wonder if the store isn't directly run by Universal, hence why we see so much "other" merchandise.

Yes I think so and could be. It just seems strange to see the DC stuff in there...you know?

Lisa and I got Doctor Who shirts from that store. I was surprised to find them there.

I purchased a Green Lantern shirt in that shop by T2 maybe 3 years ago...which I recall seemed strange since GL is DC.

Ooh, I can once again fantasize about Marvel Island becoming Gotham City. :)

Didn't someone once say that Six Flags didn't have EXCLUSIVE rights to DC?

i bought some DC graphic novels in Marvel land last fall.
it was in the shop around the corner from the Spiderman ride.

i buy a lot of graphic novels.

Cyber Image (I'm pretty sure that's the name of the T2 store) has always had a weird collection of merchandise. A couple years ago they had a huge Star Wars section in that store with a display of a storm trooper and how you too could own your own armor - ask at the counter for price!:rotfl:

Saw the DC shirts in the T2 gift shop 2 years ago, before they even re-did Spiderman. Sadly, I think it's just a sales opportunity. :(

Yes, DC merch--and also Star Wars merch--has been in that shop for years. It's been a general "geek" shop for the better part of a decade.
