I am sure I read a thread in here earlier on in the year about DC birthday packages. Couldn't find it so I guess I'll have to ask the Forum again....... which is the best of the 2 birthday packages to go for, for our 10 year old daughter (with us tagging along)?

I did the all inclusive one - it comes with the buoy, pic, video, camera, GREAT cake (take it with you if you're not going to eat it there - they'll have it waiting at the lobby in the fridge for when you leave) and your choice of a t-shirt. If your dolphin swim is later on in the day, ask for your camera so you can use it all day!:wave2:

Liz,

Did you feel the all inclusive option was worth it? I am taking my 6 yo dd in July and am considering this option.

Thanks in advance!

here's the info....

Premium Birthday Package:

Festive, lively and the ideal way to kick off another year, this package costs $174.95 and includes:

* A souvenir buoy, personalized with your birthday message and delivered by a dolphin
* A disposable (one-time use) underwater camera
* A Discovery Cove T-shirt
* A beautifully decorated birthday cake created just for you and your party
* A 5 X 7 color photograph of your unforgettable dolphin interaction
* A full-length video of the special occasion and dolphin interaction, combined with breathtaking footage of Discovery Cove

Birthday Package:

Fun, celebratory, and overflowing with plenty of picture-perfect moments for years to come, this package costs $74.95 and includes:

* A souvenir buoy, personalized with your birthday message and delivered by a dolphin
* A beautifully decorated birthday cake created just for you and your party
* A 5 X 7 color photograph of your unforgettable dolphin interaction

The premium, you get the video (60 plus tax), t-shirt - (20 ish plus tax) - water camera (15 ish plus tax)

so basically they're about the same when you add the extras in, I'm not sure on the reg. package, but with the premium package a DC person waits on you and organizes the party/cake/tshirt etc. They meet you out after the dolphin swim, take your buoy and bring it to the front desk so you don't have to carry it around. I loved the extra help!

It was a great time! (the cake is oh so good!):wave2:

You did the all inclusive package - with all the extras.... did the video include everyone taking part in the dolphin experience or was it tailored just to you and your party. I have read articles that say the video includes half an hour of scenery and a couple of group shots of the dolphin experience. Would it be tailored to our daughter or not?

Is that price per person in your party or just for the birthday boy/girl ? thanks:jester:

the video shows about a half hour of general DC shots, and then shows the entire dolphin swim with everybody in it. They show my dd going over to the trainer to receive the "toy" from the dolphin, it shows the dolphin getting the buoy, swimming back with it and giving it to my dd, this is on top of the regular interaction.(total film time is about an hour - half hour general stuff, half hour your dolphin swim)

the party money is for the party/buoy/cake/birthday child gets tshirt &camera etc. everyone, including the birthday person still has to pay separately for the dolphin encounter.

hope it helps:wave2:
