I did Daytona USA about 18 months ago. Dh & DS are huge nascar fans-- I could really care less. Well, I was dreading it, but figured it was only a small part of the whole trip. I was pleasantly suprised. The insisde is like a mini little "theme park- museum". There are simulators and hands on activities. Most are included w/ your admission. There is some of the actual cars that have won at Daytona on hand.
The track tour is a couple dollars extra. However, it was really, really interesting. You board a tram and they take you on a tour of the entire track, pit area, and staging area. The guide we had was very comedic and kept it very lively. Also, when we were there they were doing the Richard Petty Driving Expierence. So, we got to see a lot of replicas of the bigger name drivers cars going around the track. I really thought my going was going to be money well wasted, and that it was going to be a long afternoon. I was actually glad I did it, and I had a nice time. We spent about 2 1/2 hours there. However, we don't dwaddle on things. I could see someone who really likes to read every last plaque on the wall being there for 5 hours.
