we want to take a quick day trip from Cypress pointe to Daytona does any one have any idea how far and how easy it is? i heard it is the closest beach, thanks

Well, I don't remember the exact directions, but from our own experience driving it and just comparing mileage, we found Coco Beach to be about 20 minutes closer. Plus, we just like the beach better--don't like having all those cars on there!

Shoot, I'll have to get out my map because while I could drive you there, right now I can't remember any of those highway numbers. Maybe someone else will answer in the meantime.

I can not get you to an exact beach but I know that you take I-4 right to I 95 and it is right there. The exit for I-4 from 95 is actually a Datona Beach exit. Did that make any sense? We drive down 95 to get to WDW and Take the I 4 exit(Datona) .
I may be wrong but I think that is it.

Take I-4 Eastbound to I-95 Northbound. Stay on I-95 for about 1 mile to Exit 261A towards Daytona Beach. This exit is for International Speedway Blvd. (also called US 92) and will take you right in toward the beach. It's about 4-5 miles from I-95 to the ocean. This route takes you right past the Speedway and Daytona USA attraction.

Just for the record, we preferred Daytona to Cocoa Beach but disneymom3 is correct that it's about 20 minutes longer to get to Daytona than to Cocoa. Should you decide on Cocoa Beach, you take the Bee Line Expressway (toll) all the way out toward the Atlantic and just follow the signs to Cocoa. But as I said, we vote for Daytona.

Enjoy the beach!:sunny:

Lisa,
Could you say why you prefer Daytona? I am just curious as we have not been there in several years but visit some beach everytime we go to FL.

We have found Coco to be less crowded and clean as well as the people there more likely to be families rather than college age than what we experienced at Daytona. But as I said, we haven't been to Daytona for several years and are always interested in something new.

Thanks!

Just personal preference for me. We like the fact that there are more activities and DH just loved taking his car onto the beach. ATV rentals and parasailing, that kind of thing. If you prefer a quieter beach, Cocoa is just fine. We just like more action:cool1: but that's my family.

Have fun whichever beach you choose:sunny:
