I am just wondering if anyone has an ideas on how to get to Daytona Beach as cheap as possible from Orlando/Kissimmee area. No one in my party will be in the age range of 21-25 to rent a car, and already have our flight plans to Orlando. Just would like to spend a day in Daytona beach. Just asking for some ideas on how to get their cost efficently.
Thanks

Hitchhike? :teeth: Only kidding. Pool your money and rent a towncar? Greyhound?

not a clue but I also will be going when I got. That is my favorite place to go these days above DW

Well I think at this point...I am just going to plan an A and a B for the day I would like to go to Daytona...and I when I arrive in Orlando I will ask at the travel desk in the hotel what may be the best way to there, and if not within budget have something else planned that day just in case...because searching online has provided me not real good sources of a budgeted price :( I was really looking fwd to the beach and the track

re: the age range, if you are NOT that young and someone will have a license, then you should be able to rent a car with no problem, and that is definitely the cheapest way to go, even if you're Canadian. If you ARE that young it will cost more, but if you only need the car for one day that will still be cheaper than a tour alternative. If you're all still teens, then you're pretty much SOL.

The other way I know of is a motorcoach excursion you can buy from Transfloridian.com. It's $79/pp r/t, plus the price of a cab to get from WDW to/from the pickup point in Kissimmee. You also could hire a car service to transfer you to Daytona and back, but that will normally cost about $150 each way for the carload, so you are probably looking at about the same expense.

Aimerskoeh, I asked a colleague of mine who lives over in Daytna about travel options. Unfortunately Orlando's bus system LYNX apparently does not meet up with Daytona's bus system VOTRAN.

However, he did mention DOTS which is located at http://www.dots-daytonabeach.com/

If you can somehow get yourself over to Orlando International Airport then DOTS operates nearly two dozen or so roundtrips daily between the airport and Daytona Beach. I did not look to see if it was affordable. Hope it is.
